FANTASTIC REEL I WILL BUY MORE
Seems well made
Havent used it much since getting it, but it seems well made.
So far it’s been good.
Super light, seems very durable, have caught 2 decent sized striped bass from the surf (43/46). Looks great too! Havent dunked it or had in the water yet but hope it holds up to what they claim it can do.
Simple is best
From a personal perspective, the greatest advantage of this reel is its simplicity. This simplicity is the same as seen in previous works(vanstaal, zeebaas, etc.) by the designer.
Also, the fact that you can do maintenance by yourself is attractive. Recent luxury reels are not allowed to be maintained by the owner himself.
According to Visser Reels, The Visser reels use a Dual Pentium Drag System that creates a smooth and powerful drag with a wide range. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.
Hi Tony, The casting distance in between the Visser #3 and the Van Staal VR75 would be comparable. Your most likely going to get a similar casting distance for each reel with a marginal difference. Each reel is a great choice. I personally would rec
Hi Rodney, We should start expecting the new Visser reels to come in in the spring of 2022. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.
Hi Rick, The closest to a Van Staal VSX 200 would be either models: No. 6 or No. 7 Visser Reel. TackleDirect Code: VSR-0004-2, and VSR-0005-2. that has the closest body size to this reel. https://www.tackledirect.com/visser-spinning-reels-

The closest to a Van Staal VR 175 will be either a No. 5 or a No. 6 in terms of line test. The Van Staal has a much higher drag rating and can hold much more line on the spool than the visser can so there isn't an exact match but those would be closest. T
sizes 6, 7, 8 would do well with the 11' rod
The shaft material on these reels are made from bar stock aluminum, whereas the gear material is made out of stainless steel.
Either option would be a good choice for that rod. The #6 model may balance slightly better.
I would say these would be in between a 5000-6000 size Stella
I would say that the #5 size Visser is most comparable to a VR 100 model size
The smallest they make this reel is a #3 which is roughly equivalent to a 3000 size reel. i think even this size may be a bit overkill for the rod you are pairing.
But if you are sold on this reel i would recommend the smallest size for your 6' jig rod<
the VR50 is very close to if not slightly larger than the #3 size Visser reel
I would recommend a #5 size reel, but there's no wrong answer between the two, there are no 'reel' advantages or disadvantages for either of these sizes
