Perfect for trolling Striped Bass, Tuna, and Mahi!

Great rod for trolling stripers, tuna, and mahi here in the NE. Great backbone that can handle almost anything I throw at it. I will be getting a few more to round out my trolling set.

Nice rods

I recently purchased 4 of these TLD 20 Combos for my new boat. I intend to use them as general purpose trolling rods for everything that swims from 0 to 30 miles offshore and they seem to be perfect for that. The Shimano TLD has a great reputation and the Tackle Direct rod seems well built compared to similar priced rods. I would say the only drawback is the crappy handle on the read more Shimano TLD, I'm not sure why Shimano wont upgrade them but there are cheap handle upgrades available on Ebay atleast. The guys in store were helpful and spooled it up with line for me just how asked them. I wouldn't recommend these as canyon trolling gear but I have confidence I can catch anything from stripers to tuna with these combos. Overall I would say these are a well priced workhorse trolling rod.

Best combo without breaking the bank.

For fishermen like me, who only get to make offshore trips 6-10 times a year, this combo is perfect. This combo has pulled in 30lb wahoo and numerous dolphin between 25-45lbs. I highly reccomend it!

Edward,
That combo is a bit light, but the TDSSUT601MHSB/TLD30II (SHM-3113) would be a better fit for trolling tuna/albacore. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
