Nice small spinning reel

I got used to the quick fire on these reels years ago. Easy to get reset to cast again for a quick return to the water. Use this reel for crappie fishing when they move into shallow water to spawn.

Price for the brand!

A great brand product. The quality far outweighs the very cheap price!

Perfect Reel for the OMG Moments!

Please allow me to qualify this review. My grandfather some 50 + years ago taught that Murphy's Law was written for fisher people (PC correct?) He always had a second rod & reel rigged and ready to cast the unexpected rise/swim by to the keeper of the day, I cannot count the number of times this practice has saved a day on the water!
The 2500 Syncopate is a solid basic read more reel, no bells/whistles but it has a terrific feature, the trigger bail, it cuts casting time in half, just when you need that fast cast

Still one of the best for the money

This is my first order with Tackle Direct. Great experience. Delivery as promised. I own many of the Syncopate reels I ordered. Inexpensive, but long lasting and smooth. I put these on rods I use for speckled trout fishing in SE Louisiana marshes. They perform very well.

Quickfire is a fun and useful gimmick

Shimano makes the best cheap freshwater reels. I have some that are 20+ years old and still perform beautifully. Don't really see the need for expensive reels to catch 5 lb fish tbh. This is replacing an ancient quickfire model that lost its drag knob somewhere. It's a blessing and a curse that the anti-reverse throws you back to the quickfire position. Just remember to hold on read more to the handle (which you would be anyway) when setting the hook so it doesn't spin back to fire position.

Great service

I had an ultralight Shimano "fastfire"reel many years ago, figured Id give this one a try. not quite as compact as the old one, but very nice for the price range.easily adjustable drag.trigger is very easy to get the hang of.money well spent.

very impressed with the construction and smoothness of this reel, particularly for the price! I also love the 1 handed casting feature.
I can't speak to the durability of it- but I have only had good experiences with Shimano in the past...

Can't go wrong with this reel

Botught reel for my wife b/c of trigger and self-centering, but I like it too. Withstood a week of surf fishig and great for freshwater bass, small to mid-size stripers, and redfish. Shimano's are smooth. All I buy now. Tackle Direct is great to work with. Great web site and fast delivery.

AMAZING

Shimano Syncopate FG Spinning Reels Questions and Answers

Ask a Question

Asked by Ben 5 years ago

How do you install handle onto the real?

Bernie 5 years ago

Push in the end and spin the handle as you were reeling

Asked by Ed 5 years ago

Looking to buy this as a gift for a 16 year old grandson who fishes in the local creeks and occasionally in a pond. Can you give some advice on which size to get that will best fit his fishing in the creeks?

Bernie 5 years ago

The 2500 model would be the perfect size

Asked by Clarence 3 years ago

Is this reel good to use in salt water? I so a response from Q&A   that is NOT  for salt water but in your specifications says other wise

Paul Olah 3 years ago

This reel is approved for salt water use, however; this reel is not sealed so be careful to not drop this in sand etc. After each salt water outing you will want to rinse this reel down with some tap water to ensure it stays smooth and operational.
