New for 2019 the Shimano Stradic FL Spinning Reels are the latest edition to a line of spinning reels that for generations has served as a benchmark by which all other reels in its class are measured. For years the Stradic has set the bar for innovation and performance at its price point and the Str...adic FL continues this tradition by putting flagship level performance in the hands of anglers at a price never thought possible. Now driven by Shimanos MicroModule II cold forged gear anglers can experience unprecedented smoothness and power transfer. Internal components are tuned to the highest tolerances possible with Shimanos Silent Drive technology. To protect your investment from the elements Shimanos X-Protect water repellent coating and specially designed water channeling labyrinth construction work to prevent water intrusion and preserve that out-of-the-box effortless rotation for the life of the reel without adding the rotational resistance commonly felt in sealed reels. Euipped with a heavy duty Cross Carbon Drag system the Stradic FL is poised to be put to the ultimate test against the hardest pulling inshore species. The introduction of the Long Stroke Spool offers enhanced casting capabilities by decreasing the frequency in which your line changes direction while coming off the spool creating less turbulence going through the guides and resulting in longer smoother casts. From the lake to the back bays and beyond the Stradic FL proves itself to be a worthy edition to the Stradic legacy.Shimano Technology Found in Stradic FL Spinning Reels :Hagane Gear - Boasting amazing strength and durability Hagane Gear is a process in which the gearing is calculated in minute detail and cold forged instead of being cut. This application of state-of-the-art technologies gives the angler reel smoothness from the first use through years of enjoyment.Hagane Body - A reel body with high rigidity which virtually eliminates body flexing due to its stiffness and impact resistance. The result? An angler’s actions are more efficiently transformed into cranking power. It’s efficiency through strength.X-Ship - By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings the pinion gear remains in precise alignment with the drive gear and stays in the same position under even the heaviest of loads. This eliminates friction between the spool shaft and gear which translates to better casting performance and increased gear durability.MicroModule II Gear - State-of-the-art gear design makes use of smaller gear teeth and more of them which results in a more efficient gear train and much smoother retrieve. Long Stroke Spool - By increasing the height of the spool the line is able to be laid on the spool without the spool having to fully oscillate as frequently. This results in the line having to change direction while coming off the spool fewer times during a cast resulting is less turbulence going through the guides for a smoother and longer cast.SilentDrive - A long list of fine-tuned internal micro adjustments and enhancements that reduce any handle play and noise from moving parts.X-Protect - By combining a water repellant coating and a specially designed water channeling labyrinth construction X-Protect provides high-level water resistance without adding weight or sacrificing light rotor rotation.G-Free Body - G-Free Body technology enables the reel’s center of gravity to be moved closer to the center of the reel seat and therefore the anglers hand position. This shift in weight and balance helps to reduce fatigue and enhance casting comfort.S A-RB Bearings - These bearings undergo the same anti-corrosion process as Shimano’s A-RB Bearings with the addition of shields on both sides of the bearings to reduce the possibility of salt dirt or other foreign objects inhibiting the bearing’s rotation.Cross Carbon Drag - Allows for a wider range of drag settings enhanced drag washer durability and the smoothest Shimano drag performance ever.

Excellent smallmouth reel.
Have over 15 trips on this reel. It has boated in excess of 200 fish. Tough reel ,great drag, exceptionally light and well balanced. Everything you would expect at this price point.
Handles all the Jersey Inshore fishing needs.
I purchased the 5000 paired with GLoomis GCX Inshore 7'6 rod. This reel allows me to cast a great distance while I'm fishing the Inlet. It handles blues, fluke, stripers, sea bass, black fish, and porgies with no problems. I bought another 5000 to pair with a 9' surf rod to see what it can do.
Reel
Great reel always wanted one.
Great Reel
Works well for bucktailing Fluke, casts well and plenty of power
Es shimano (it's shimano)
vale cada centavo, es de las mejores opciones para usar un carrete compacto en la pesca de orilla sin sacrificar poder de arrastre y capacidad de linea
(It is worth every penny, it is one of the best options to use a compact reel in shore fishing without sacrificing drag power and line capacity.)
Great reel!
Great feeling reel, very smooth retrieval. Couldnt ask for a better product for the money!
Stradic
Excellent reel. Liked it so much I bought this as my 2nd.
Best reel for the money!
SO smooth and strong, durable. and great price range. I caught tons of 20 pound ripping Salmon and Steelhead on this Reel. Will be buying a second soon in different size to have 2.
Extraordinary Reel
Smoothe as Silk, but rugged and tough. Strong reel. Great Value! As always from Tackle Direct.
Stradic 4000
Quick/reliable delivery. Go to reel for inshore fishing when compared to others at the same price point.
Smooth as butter
Ive had the reel for about 2-1/2 years and it is still as smooth as the first day I purchased it.
Great reel reliable service
Thank you TD for the fast delivery of my much anticipated reel. I will be ordering another very quickly.
Stradic 5000
Nice reel for whipping
Shimano stradic 2500 hgfl
Web order 1213181
Ordered shimano stradic 2500 hgfl on 16 may 2022 and received 19 may 2022. Great service from TackleDirect. However this reel had a different problem from the shimano stradic 1000 hgfl I reviewed before. This 2500 FL reel made a bearing noise. It had no grease on drive gear at all. The pinion gear had grease on very bottom next to where bottom bearing is…

located . Also had a huge amount of grease below the pinion gear on the main shaft assembly. Removed the grease from the pinion gear and properly greased the pinion gear and drive gear. Bearing sound greatly reduced. Handle has small amount of play not present in 1000 hgfl reel with only a slight grinding noise on top pinion gear bearing.
Certainly, this reel is a very well designed overall very salt capable reel. the 5000 model will definitely do the trick for most open beach and inlet fishing
2fargone,<p>The Shimano Stradic FL 5000 spinning reel would be fine for Muskie fishing as it has plenty of drag (24lb) and line capacity (235yds/30lb braid). The right rod is definitely the more important piece when casting 1-4oz lures all day. Please l
Benjamin,<p>The Stradic 5000 can be used to target bigger fish, like Barramundi, since as it has 24lb max drag. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.</p>
That is a good combination for most inshore species in NJ.
I would recommend either the 3000 or 2500 size reel for that rod.
Yes this will be a good pairing.
I recommend the 2500 for both fresh and saltwater bass
The Stradic is made in Malaysia
Both will be good for Flounder. The main difference between these two reels will be retrieve rate and capacity. I would opt for the 3000 size reel and for a rod I would choose a medium rod. I recommend this one: <a href="https://www.tackledirect.com/st-cr
If you are surf fishing, the Stradic will be the best reel. The Vanford is more of a freshwater/inshore reel and will not hold up in the rough surf conditions. The Vanford is also not heavy enough to balance with a surf rod.
The 5000 spool would be too big for the 4000.
The Shimano Stradic FLs do not come with an anti-reverse.
All of our prices would be in USD, unfortunately at this time we are unable to ship Shimano products internationally. I apologize for any inconvenience
Typically i would recommend a 6'6-7' M or MH rated rod but totally depends what you plan on targeting.<p>I would suggest looking at the new St. Croix Mojo and Triumph inshore rods</p>
The Stradic 2500 would be a very similar size to a Penn Battle II 2000
I would recommend jumping up to a Saragosa 5 or 6000 size reel, but if you want to stick with the Stradic I would go with the 5000 model
I would recommend the 4000 just based on how much more drag and versatility that size would provide, However if you are targeting smaller inshore species and doing more casting then the 3000 would also be a useful option. These reels are great, you won't
The FL is in reference to the generation model#, the old stradics were FK, these new are the FL model.<p>Although this is a very solid tough reel, I wouldn't recommend using it as an offshore reel seeing that they only go up to a 5000 size.</p><p>I would
You will want to go with a larger reel like a Shimano Spheros or Saragosa in a 6000. The stradic is a much smaller reel and would not pair up well with a 9' 6" surf rod. Spheros and Saragosa are built on a larger body and would balance out really well. <p
The 7' Medium (<span style="color:rgb(52,52,52);font-family:Arial;background-color:rgb(236,237,239);">SCR-0829) </span>or 7' Medium-heavy (<span style="color:rgb(52,52,52);font-family:Arial;background-color:rgb(236,237,239);">SCR-1363)</span> would pair
Yes these are saltwater approved
Yes, the 4000 and 5000 Stradic FL Spinning Reels feature the same body, and the differences are the spool and the handle. 5000 size comes with the larger handle knob.
A Shimano Stadic 3000 would be perfect for what you are describing, 14-15lb would help maximize your casting distance and will handle your listed applications. A 7' 6" medium power, fast action inshore rod would be your best bet to do a little bit of ever
These do not come with extra spools.
Harry,<p>The Shimano Stradic FL can be spooled for you prior to you receiving it. Just purchase the braid that you want on the reel as part of your order and put in the notes/comments that you would like the purchased braid spooled onto the reel prior to
Tom,<p>The Shimano Stradic FL 3000 will pair nicely with the St.Croix Avis Trek spinning rod ATS66MF3 for smallmouth fishing. Please let me know if there is anything else we can assist you with.</p>
Tom, <p>The GLoomis Bronzeback SMR752S-SP spinning rod will pair nicely with the Shimano Stradic 2500 FL spinning reel. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.</p>
<span>Hi Tim, I would recommend the 5000 size Stradic FL. Model: STC5000XGFL; TackleDirect Code: SHM-3812. </span><a>https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-stc5000xgfl-stradic-fl-spinning-reel.html.</a><span> this reel has the best line capacity needed for
The 40# test line would be the better option without going to a larger pound test increasing line diameter and decreasing line capacity.
After physically weighing the Stradic FL they weigh 10.4 oz's.
The Stradic FL 5000 would pair well with either SCR-1850 or SCR-1879 both 8ft one MH and the other M power.
The key features that the Stradic FL has that the FK did not is the Micro Module Gear II, silent drive, NEW Hagane Gear, X Protect, Long Spool, Carbon Cross Drag Washer. Overall a better reel and key for inshore saltwater fishing!
Yes, a Shimano Grappler would pair well with the 5000 Stradic FL for jigging applications. Which Grappler model to choose depends on the types of fish you are targeting and the weights of the jigs you will be using. The Medium Heavy models rated for 50lb
Either a 4 or 5000K
Yes the FL 1000 would be a good pair for that rod.
This information is not available yet.
No, there is no anti-reverse switch. The handle cannot be turned backwards.<br />
<span>Hi Paul, for the rod you have in mind we recommend the 5k Shimano Stradic or larger reel as the stradics are a smaller bodied reel and may not balance the setup well. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with!</span>
<span>Hi Nicolas, we recommend going with the Stradic FL 5000 paired with the ODM DNA 8ft ( </span><a href="https://www.tackledirect.com/odm-nxd-82-dna-surf-rod.html">https://www.tackledirect.com/odm-nxd-82-dna-surf-rod.html</a><span> ). Please let us kno

<span>Hi Ashley, The Shimano Stradic 4000 FL Spinning Reel will pair well with a Shimano Talavera 7'6" Medium-Heavy for inshore fishing applications for redfish, and sheepshead. For Sharks you will need a heavier rod such as the Shimano TLXS72H Tallus PX

<span>Hi Joseph, Based on your fishing application I would recommend a Daiwa CERTATE SW G5000-XH Spinning Reel. </span><a>https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-certateswg5000-xh-certate-sw-spinning-reel.html</a><span> This would be the lightest option and wo
