Shimano Socorro
I really like this Shimano Socorro SW spinning reel i bought two of them 6000 model and 8000 model both are very good fishing reels
General Purpose Reel
This reel is great for for general saltwater fishing.
Nice reel
Great handle knob on this. For 120 you cant go wrong
Great reel for everyone
I would highly recommended this reel for beginners or long time fishermen overall great reel
Strong, Smooth, Reliable
Everything you can ask for and expect from Shimano with this price. Very comfortably weighted and capable of most tasks.
Smooth action and affordable
I bought these reels to use with a couple of saltwater Ugly Sticks for pier fishing. They're strong, smooth and affordable. No complaints, other than the round, hard plastic handle knob isn't as nice as the rubber ones found on the more expensive Shimano reels.
Grouper power
With a big crankin handle, Socorro lifts the groupers from the depths of the Gulf.
Tough and Smooth
Tough and smooth spinning reel
It has a sealed drag and can handle splash but can't be dunked or submerged.
This is made in Malaysia
This reel and 10000 size would definitely hold up well to offshore jigging applications
Hello, there is no anti reversal retrieve model for this reel.
The Socorro 5000 can hold a bit more line capacity than the Stradic FK 5000 but not by much about 20 yards or so.
The Shimano Socorro SW Spinning Reels has a waterproof drag system.
Replacement handles will be available through Shimano. We suggest contacting them at 877-577-0600 to inquire about what is available.
The Socorro is designed to handle light saltwater exposure such as occasional splashes. It is not designed to be dunked or fully submerged.
The Daiwa CLSP801MHFS Coastal Salt Pro Surf Spinning Rod is a good match for the Shimano spinning 6000 SW Socorro reel.
The Shimano SOC10000SW Socorro SW Spinning Reel is a more durable reel than the Okuma Azore 90.
