It’s nit working at all it’s damaged as I tried to use it at the park
Overall its not a good reel theres problems with it , I tried to cast it with a weight on it it completely birdnests an backlash how do I return it to get s full refund?
Nice reel for the price.
My buddy bought one as a first time fisherman last summer who insisted on having his own gear when he came out ona boat trip with us. Got to use it for a little while that day and test it out and was impressed for the price. Solid reels, and i hate saying that because I'm normally an Avet or Penn guy when it comes to reels, but this honestly made me think about picking up 1 or 2… read more of these for my friends and little cousins when they come out fishing.
Best $80 reel on the market
I fished this reel, actually two of them, were my catfish reels for 2 years. Awesome beginner reels, price is great, work great. Very smooth and solid. Don't waste your money on ABU's junk $80 reels. This reel in the 400/401 size is great. The drag is fine for fish up to about 25-30lbs, and they'll definitely work it a bit. I caught many 15-20lb flatheads on this reel with ease.… read more Casts far, love these things.
Decent reel
Can't complain for 80 dollars I have put the heat on this reel and had handled big snook only thing I don't like is that the level wind disengages
Ok baitcasting reel
With this reel you pay for what you get. Its not the best but it definitely gets the job done. I dont like how the level wind disengaged when casting on the 300. Better off paying a little more for a better reel like the tekota
Great overall reel besides....
this reel is awesome just not the drag I wish it had a higher max drag.
Have 3,of the 401,left handed.model.
It replaced the orsair model. I am very please with all 3,of my 401,model reels. I fish Stripers and Sturgeon with them and have caught many a fish with them. I couldn't be happier.
Okay reel, you get what you pay for.
This reel is a good reel of you do not hook on to a 6+ lb fish, then it becomes an okay reel.
Plastic garbage, corvalus 300
this reel shattered on the inside while i was clearing a backlash. a coil wrapped around the line guide base and the gears just broke to a million pieces while i was trying to wind the backlash out. maybe I should have put less force while winding but the quality of the components is questionable to say the least.
Shimano corvalus left handed fishing reel
Very user friendly ....good reel for the price...I use it for striper fishing in the California delta paired with an eight foot shimano clarus rod....
Hello Mike. This means that when the button is pressed to put the spool into free spool, the level wind stays in position where it was prior to pressing the button rather than moving back and forth with the line when you cast. There is no real advantage
The Corvalus is actually a freshwater reel. You could use it in the Salt but, we do not suggest it. Take a look at the Tekota 300 (SHM-0447). It is designed for use in saltwater and is a very good level wind all around reel.
Rod choice depends a lot one the application (size lures being thrown, size fish you are targeting). A good general starting point is the Clarus series rods by Shimano or the Compre series.
The 301 and 401 are left hand models
