Perfection
I cant say enough about how great this reel is. While I love the Curados and Scorpions, IMO this thing just outperforms them.
One of My Favorite Reels !
My 151 is the reel on my go-to rig for throwing super-light 1/8oz and 1/16oz crab and shrimp imitation lures when i'm chasing after Reds or Flounder. Being so small, it's super lightweight, and it just disappears into the palm of my hand And, with a retrieve that is like spinning glass, it's effortless to cast all morning long.
Awesome reel
Have been using Chronarch's for the past 10 years and the CH 150 is as smooth and easy casting as a reel can get. Is worth the extra $$ to go a notch up from the other Shimano reels. But these are great reels too!
Wade fisherman’s dream
Great reel and build. Nice tolerances and performances and wont dissolve like the magnesium framed reels. Smooth drag and ergonomics are perfect, disappears in the hand
Excellent Reel
I use it for for plastics with a 1/8 to 1/4 jig head. Casts well and handles fish well. Best iteration of the Chronarch since the 100B.
Easy casting
I have fished spinning tackle almost exclusively. I wanted to give baitcasters a try, and wanted something to stand up to saltwater. This is it. Smooth drag and casts easily.
Shimano always made good freshwater gear
Way back 30 years ago plus and when I was younger my family lived a considerable amount further away from my fathers boat in Atlantic Highlands than i do today, so freshwater fishing was my main way of fishing, and my shimano was my go to company. Still have some of my old reels in the garage that still work smooth till this day that are older than my son and daughter.

Great inshore reel
Holding up good so far for inshore fishing.
The box says Japan at the bottom.
The 150's are right handed while the 151's are left handed this is the way shimano list which side the retrieve is on.
The tranx 200 is going to give you a better line capacity and a slightly stronger drag.
Here is the link for the left hand retrieve https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-ch151hgg-chronarch-g-baitcasting-reel.html
Hi Greg, From the specs, they are very similar reels with the Tranx 150 offering a little more drag than the Chronarch G in the same size reel with offerings of a lower gear option. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with
