Excellent Budget Reel

Bought this reel about 6 months ago and have taken it on many inshore fishing trips. Caught everything from perch to lings to halibut on this reel. Drag is strong and the retrieve is decent.

The handle arm has snapped on me due to some rock fishing shenanigans, but I was able to get it replaced.

For as cheap as it is, you can't beat the quality

Very good for price

This reel is very good for its low price. although it makes a little bit of a grinding sound, it still preforms perfectly.

Little heavier than expected

I got this as a freebie when I purchased a Shimano Sedona. I mainly use this as a backup reel, but it’s good enough to be a main reel. It’s slightly heavier than the Sedona but honestly, it feels sturdier than the Sedona. The drag is loud enough to hear while on the other side of the boat and holds plenty of 20lb braid.

Caught a load of seabass and it performed smooth with no problems.

Disappointing

It’s made a loud grinding sound on retrieve since the get-go, and that sound transfers directly to the water.

I love it

I got this on special and absolutely love it. It is the perfect size for general use. I have is paired with a shimano inshore rod and the two balance and handle great. I would get another if anything happens to this one. Cast is smooth, retrieve is smooth with no play in the handle/gearing. And it is light weight. Holds enough line for me on the kayak. I am very pleased with this read more reel.

Shimano never disappoints me

Reel very solid in smooth for the money so far it has yet to fail me after catching numerous quality largemouth and smallmouth bass.. should perform well for many ears as long as I care for it properly

My friend has a pair of these reels. We were catching bass, gar and then I rigged a live shad and through it out. I hooked a 30 lb plus catfish and this reel performed great. Excited to have this reel for my own.

Would this reel be good for salmon and steelhead? Seems like it may be too small.

The line capacity is is fine but the drag is not strong enough.
