Simply the Best

I bought a Tundra for the same reason I bought this reel. It may not be the lightest or the fanciest or the most technically advanced, but it is an absolutely amazing reel that is simple, straightforward, rugged and durable and will likely outlast me. I now own three of these and see no reason to own another BC, unless you plan on doing salt or inshore fishing. Highest recommendation

I own 4 of these reels, these are probably the best reels on the market!! The shimano team said this reel is the least worked on!

Bantam is the reel that started the legend of baitcasters from Shimano

It's built like an ultra lightweight Calcutta, with a low profile design and casts perfectly in every way. Core Solid body! is the finest engineering of the frame of a baitcaster ever. Only the new Metanium B has it, but that has Metanium metal for lighter weight; but I like the solid feel of this beauty and it's less expensive.

Way back 30 years ago plus and when I was younger my family lived a considerable amount further away from my fathers boat in Atlantic Highlands than i do today, so freshwater fishing was my main way of fishing, and my shimano was my go to company. Still have some of my old reels in the garage that still work smooth till this day that are older than my son and daughter.

Best baitcasting reel Ive ever had my hands on!!!

This is a work of modern mechanical ART! Will cast further and easier than any reel you have ever fished. Very comfortable in hand and has an unbelievable amount of drag in the case that you need it. I twitch jigs for Alaskan coho and this reel allowed me to cast anywhere I wanted to without the fear of backlash. If you are looking for PEAK performance you have found it! If you read more are going to make something that your company name was built on then it must be done like this. WELL DONE SHIMANO!

What braking system does this reel have

Bernie 6 years ago

This reel uses Shimano's new SVS INFINITY BRAKING SYSTEM. Brake weights that use 'inner friction' against the raceway during the cast, SVS Infinity controls spool speed for precision casting especially when using lighter lures.
