I love Twin Powers

Great reel for whatever you intend to use it for. I have 4k and 5k Twinpower FD's that I love. Just got a 14K SW and it seems like everything I would've expected. Great high end reel.

Great mid size inshore real

i bought this to replace a saragosa SW and couldn't have been happier. The Saragosa is a workhorse but the Twin Power SW is an amazing lightweight, smooth, and powerful real. It feels lighter then its listed when in use and i can fish it all day. Looks great and performs even better. Will certainly purchase again in the future.

As everybody has stated this thing is smooth and just very elegant to handle. The grip knob is very comfortable, drag is amazing.

This reel is un-real!

I paired this reel with my St. Croix Legend Surf Spinning Rod, Model: GSS106MHMF2 and the two together is a match made in heaven. I was using 3 to 6 ounces total weight (lure plus sinker) and the cast was so smooth and felt effortless, even into the wind. I am definitely buying the 6000 for my St. Croix Triumph Surf Travel Spinning Rod.

Smooth as Silk

This reel is amazing. The line pickup is so smooth. It balances perfectly on my 7’ 6” rod. I’m glad I held out until it was back in stock. If you are looking for a great quality, workhorse reel this one will fit the bill

Amazing reel

Excellent choice of reel with high retrieve rate, brutal drag, slight improvement over last design of same reel. Really a catch anything reel for a spinner. With braid you have a ton of line capacity.

Beautiful reel

Bought this reel for YFT popping and spooled it with 65 lbs Nomad Panderra.

I didn’t used for tuna fishing yet, but it’s handled really well on offshore jumbo sea-bass fishing.

I have used this reel in the past. I use it for surf fishing in C abo San Lucas. Excellent product, super smooth, lots of drag, great line capacity, but best of all retrieve is super fast for catching Dorado, Rooster and Sierra.
I highly recommend this product

Great reel super smooth

Was able to get my hands on and 8000 SW C. The fit and finish was better than expected. Cranking the handle was the same as my Stella's. Went ahead and grabbed a 6000 before they were gone.

I got the 10000 size and it has been great, so smooth and strong. The new color makes the reel look awesome too.

Smooth, Powerful, and light weight

I bought this reel to be used in the back bays, for my light setup. Oh man, I ran into a school of blitzing snapper blues. They are no match for the reel, its so powerful and smooth, it was an overkill.

Is this made in Japan?

Hello, yes this reel is made in Japan.

Asked by KHP 3 years ago

Is the 6k manual or automatic trip bail after opening???

Austin Kearney 3 years ago

These have an automatic bail.

Asked by Jarred Proia 3 years ago

Is the 5k and the 6k the same body size just the 6k has a bigger spool or ?

Austin Kearney 3 years ago

Yes, most of the specs are the same, except the 6000 has more line capacity with the larger spool.

Asked by Dean 3 years ago

5k or 6k paired with a heavy 8ft st croix legend inshore?

Austin Kearney 3 years ago

The 5000 would balance better and be a better overall fit on that rod.

Asked by Damon tan 3 years ago

Does it include a spare spool?

Austin Kearney 3 years ago

No, this reel does not come with a spare spool.

Asked by KHP 3 years ago

Is the 8K body the same as the 10k & 14k?

Austin Kearney 3 years ago

No, they do not share the same body. The 8K and 10K are very similar but the 8K does not share the same body as the 14K.

Asked by Roger 3 years ago

Hi would the 8k fit good with a 10.6 tiralejo ?

William Larkin 3 years ago

the 8000 would be a little large for the 10'6 especially if you plan on casting lures. It would work fine if you just plan on using live/chunk bait but for lures it would be difficult to make a lot of casts with the 8000 paired with a 10'6.

Asked by Tom 3 years ago

How do these compare with the Saragosa for surf use? Also would 6000 be a good fit for Avid 9"6" MH used for chunking?

William Larkin 3 years ago

You'd be better suited in the surf with a Saragosa, but both reels will perform well. The 6000 with a 9'6 is more ideal for casting lures however you could use it for light chunking.

Asked by Alfredo Rodriguez 3 years ago

Why does the spec sheet say no braid for the 8000

Cory - TackleDirect Customer Service 3 years ago

This reel is actually designed to be braid only. Mono has to be applied much tighter on a reel than braid so for this reel Shimano advises using braid only.

Asked by Jim 3 years ago

Would you recommend this for a blackfish jigging reel?
