Great reel for the price

Chris

maybe not as durable as an all metal battle 3, but this reel feels rather smooth and has a strong drag and comfortable knob

I've used it on my last 10 trips offshore and still surprised at the punch this little reel's got. Will probably replace similar size reels with these when the time comes.

Best SW reel under 100$

This is an awesome sealed SW reel for under/around 100$ And the drag on this reel is a beast, along with being super light this reel is hands down one of my fav goto reels, get one and i promise you wont be dissapointed

Love this reel very smooth.

This reel is very smooth. I rate it as good as any shimano or Diawa in same price range. The only thing I don’t like is the composite spool. Would’ve liked to have aluminum. I use 30 lb braid with a mono leader or flouro depending on what fish I target. It is used in saltwater and brackish water. Time will tell how it holds up to salt water.

Excellent salt water reel

Been using a Reliance 4000 2-3 times a week for inshore and surf fishing. I think I like it more than my Spinfisher VI reels! Getting around 110 yards with a 13’ surf rod.

Best low matience sand resistant reel I own

Surf fishing is especially hard on reels. I fish the beach 2-3 times a week. Sometimes you get back late and going again early the next day things don't get properly washed off. Most reels I own won't work well after a couple trips to the beach. The Reliance has amazing tolerances that keep sand OUT of the bail connections, handle, etc no gritty retrieves, bail fail or stuck parts. read more I own a lot of reels that cost much more.. but other than some shiny parts they have nothing on this Reliance reel. Buy one!

Would the 65 or 85 be suitable for red snapper?

Paul Olah 3 years ago

The 65 should be enough for snapper. You get about 720 feet of line on the 65 if fishing with braid. If you are going deeper than that go with the 85.

cant be use thes reel for tuna fishing of 50 to 100 pounds<br>

Billy - TackleDirect Customer Service 3 years ago

The largest sizes could be used for smaller Tuna in that size range. Not the best option, a Saragosa would be a better option
