It's a Penn product. What else can you say? This is my second. They're great on a light rod for inshore flounder fishing.

Great reel for the price!

Bought the cheapest reel i could find because I was going to the beach for only a week and needed a bigger reel. No complaints with this reel.

Can't be beaten for the price

I purchased the 4000 series. It has a fast retrieve for its size and has decent line capacity. I got over 200 yds of 30 lbs line so that's more than sufficient for most things you'd fish for inshore.

Only thing I dislike is that you have to turn the drag a lot before it starts to get tight but I guess i'm spoiled by bigger reels fishing for bigger fish lol

Great for snagging

David

I use this (5000) out at fish camp (I'm a commercial salmon set netter during the summers) for snagging salmon. For that kind of fishing I'm not looking for a fancy reel, and I want something that is cheap enough that I won't be too upset when it breaks down. Paired with a Daiwa Beefstick and the set up absolutely slays (helps that I'm using 50 lb braid to horse them in). Caught read more my limit within minutes more than a few times, and was able to get my home pack done without taking any fish out of the net. Two seasons in it's still working great!

This is the cheapest reel that Penn makes but it still lives up to the name. This reel is pretty good and a great backup reel to have on the boat or in the bag if something happens to your main reel. Very well constructed and good quality

Great cheap real

I bought the real to use while surf fishing on vacation this year. I really like the quality of the reel, i will probably buy a couple more in other sizes. Works Great, super cheap, and looks good too. Ohh, and shipping was quick. Overall very happy, would recommend to a freind.

Good but Not the Perfect Penn!

I had this one before, and honestly, I only used it a couple fishing trips, another Penn models are better and more durable.

I would recommend this to anglers with a very limited budget, but who ever can spend more, I would suggest investing on another Penn spinning reels.

Good freshwater reel

Cheap and good. Will get the job done and will look really nice with a blue and black rod. Use this for trout fishing and it is great.

Great reels for the money

Penn is known for quality reels in this price range I would put this up against most brands as being equal to or greater.
