This reel, just makes me happy. I own several of them, and, they’re huge, heavy, beautifully fit, and a pleasure to fish. I’ll grab these to fish over almost anything else. I’ve given up on braided line for big cats, carp, and sturgeon, so this reel is perfect for holding loads of 50lb Monster. The drag is serious, and can put the stop to a hard charge. Worth the extra $

The 113N is my go-to bottom fishing machine..... versatile, strong and smooth. While I have smaller compact reels for lighter jigs, this is my go to bait rod. (but I can see using it for larger jigs for pelagics and big grouper, but personally seems large for that)
The old 113H were the work horses (I still have some), but I've had bad experience with the new "imported" ones.… read more This is definitely an upgrade over the original tanks with improved gears and aluminum frame, and even an improvement from the "Baja special" . I've let my fishing buddies (who are more experienced than myself (professional guides) try it and they all agree. ... if you were considering a 113H2, Save up a few more bucks and get one of these.

Nice to see Penn make it right

The Senators are now made in the U.S.A. again. Know a bunch of old salty dogs that swore by Penn's name as their only go to reel, but were rightfully ticked off and boycotted buying the brand when they learned the Senators among other models were outsourced to China.

Awesome reel

I purchased this reel for a up and coming deep drop trip here in the north east haven’t used it but feels like a power house of a reel this is a 4/0 reel so you would have no problem reel in real deep monsters

The do it all reel!

Cant beat this new 113 for line capacity, drag, simplicity, durability and price!! I use this for big BFT to 150 pounds on an extra heavy rod. I fly line big sardines on 80 lb braid and leader. Its real beefy and 27 lbs of drag and about 30 at sunset! I think this reael smokes all others in the price range!!

Heavy and solid USA made reel with stainless steel gear

Bought it in the summer and finally got to use it now in Nov. Felt like the great old USA made Penn reel. A little heavey for me but felt solid and has great cranking power! Hope they will make one in 3/0 or 2/0 size, that will be perfect.

Perfect reel for panga fishing in Baja

These are my "go-to" reels when I travel down to Baja to chase yellowtail, grouper, and snapper. Traveling to Mexico to fish is tough on your gear. These reels are built like tanks and can take a beating!

This Penn Senator US model is one of my prized reels that I own. This riddle is primarily used for jigging that it is the narrow model . It's casting ability is phenomenal .
