Actually ordered the wrong combo when making this purchase as the rod was too long but it was my fault..
Tackle direct crew took excellent care of me and took the item back and sent me the combo I wanted asap..

I pick up the reel and rod combo and i have to say i love it so far. Its smooth and casts great. When i received it the reel was missing its handle so i called up tackledirect and they had me a new handle sent out with in a few days.

the foregrip on this rod is triangular and super comfortable. it lets you get more torque on the fish for sure.

Awesome Setup

Rod and reel are paired up perfectly. Light enough to feel any bite, but heavy enough to still pull in bigger fish. 33" snook pictured

This is the 2 combo I have. The quality of manufacture and materials is above other much more expensive combos. You won't get better for that price.

What size would y’all prefer for inshore sea trout and red drum . I Have a 4500LL already and find it’s a little large

Paul - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

Neal,

We would recommend the 2500 size. The 3500 is virtually the same sized reel as the 4500 just with a smaller spool that holds a bit less line. 2500 will still hold plenty of line and will be a great option for reds and trout.

Asked by Mike Sierotowicz 3 years ago

Is the combo rod a Penn jigging rod or a TD rod? Ideally, want the rubber butt for the rod holder.

Paul Olah 3 years ago

These are Penn Combos paired with Penn Rods. They do not come with a rubber butt.

Inshore Mode

would the spinfisher vI be a good set for surf fishing?

Rebecca 5 years ago

That combo is better for inshore/ back bay fishing. Depending on what and where you are fishing you typically want a 9 ft - 12 ft surf fishing pole. Here's a link to a couple of combo's that would be better for fishing off the surf. https://www.tackledir
