Works well for what it is only negative is the drag knob feels cheap but the reel was cheap so I guess that’s to be expected

This is a well built reel. It is made for smaller line and a smaller amount of line. This is a great bargain for a quality reel.

Great reel

Have two of these for wreck fishing. For the price point they get the job done.

good reel for the price

Honestly

I would go with the 3009m, 2009m, or 9m instead of these. When i asked to see one in a local store they seemed really chintzy, which suprises me from Penn. Maybe too much "Chinesium" in them or something.

Great Price for a Penn

Got two reels from Tackledirect.com but haven't used them yet. Spooled with lead core to troll lakes and Long Island Sound. Other reels I was looking at were twice the price and not made to fish saltwater. Will add to review after I fish the heck out of it.

Sweet buy

ever since I started fishing I have been using Penn reels and this is the latest addition to my bottom fishing armada, sturdy, strong, smooth drag and a very good handle to wrestle bottom dwellers..
