Really enjoying this combo set up for saltwater and fresh. The reel seems well made and feels like it will last. I lined the reel with 10lb. mono and I can cast it a mile. The rod has been good so far and also seems well made. I purchased the medium light rod and it has considerable flex. I will absolutely by another one of these setups in the future.

Purchased this rod combo to have a back up with me. I been throwing 1oz plastics and hard baits with it. Got 15lb braid and it handles them lovely. The reel is strong and the rod bends well. Got some smaller striped bass on it already. Waiting for spring to really test it out

As for Tackle Direct, this is a shop that focuses on appropriate shipping. The rod arrived in a heavy-duty tube that protects the rod while in transit. I have ordered rods from Amazon, and although the price is comparable, rods that I have purchased from Amazon are shipped in flimsy that invite disaster--broken rods. As for the reel, it was well-packaged to protect it from damage.You won't go wrong buying this great combo from Tackle Direct.

Good combo by Penn with the new Penn IV reel. Great Salt water bay pole set up. Been fishing last three weeks with one. Hard to beat for the price.
