I put this reel on an ultralight star 4-10, 7' rod to use with sea trout and snook. I've several of both species and the drag is very smooth. I fish mostly Shimano reels in the same class that has lasted for several years and also easy to work on. I'm yet to see the durability of the Okuma and/or if they can be serviced.

I am going to buy a Okuma Helios sx 30 or 40 for inshore fluke/flounder/ light stipers and blues fishing. Can you recommend some rods that would be great paired with this reel? I will be using bucktails and plugs no heavier than 3 ounces. And also witch r

To be honest the 40 sx would be the best bet out of the reel options your inquiring about. The St Croix MIS70MF Mojo Inshore Spinning Rod and the Temple Fork GIS SWS 704-1 Tactical Series Inshore Spinning Rod - 7ft would be the best rod options to match w
