Great reel, for the money. It has held up well in salt water. I would want to battle a monster fish with it, but good overall reel.

I bought my Okuma Classic CLX Levelwind reels (2) for fishing the St Claire River. One year in fishing walleyes in extremely fast current with 2 lb weights and 50 lb line test; these reels perform like the day I bought them. Great!
Always room for improvement, 4 Stars. Haven't found the reel that removes bird's nests due to my poor casting technique.

I've used these Okuma levelwind reels for many years and they are good inshore reels and are very forgiving for novice fisherman.

I have 4 of these that I use for inland lake striper fishing. They've held up well and have had no complaints about them. I've even used them in salt water for near shore wreck fishing and trolling for Spanish.

Does this reel come with a reel seat clamp and if not, do you carry reel seat clamps?<br />

Robert,<p>The Okuma CLX Levelwind reel does not come with a reel seat clamp. TackleDirect does not carry reel seat clamps has they would have to be made for and only work for that specific reel, Please let us know if there is anything else that we can

You would be able to sufficiently cast with this reel, but a baitcasting or spinning reel may be more conducive to your application. Those types of reels are specifically designed for casting whereas conventional reels are generally designed for non-cast
