DO NOT buy this rod/reel combo. I have never seen a reel break off at the stem where it mounts to the rod, but this one did as my 11 yr old was reeling in a fish. I contacted Roddy Lite customer service and sent this pic and their response was "... often fishing rods and reels are claimed to be defective when products are damaged under non-fishing conditions. Please, for me, don't buy this reel. There are plenty of other options from companies that won't call you a liar when you let them know you had an issue with their reel. Get something else.
