i pickrd up a new one friday,used it monday and i could not belive how smooth it reels and cast,i cought 15-20 small mouth on my local lake [ the great sacandaga ] foothills of the adirondack mountains,i used an half oz white jig head and strike king rage swimmer and could have used this all day, BY THE WAY i had 4 3 pounders hit a foot frpl boat and cought all 4,,its fast,,belive… read more it or not i have very excpensive rods,,,but i have a 6' 6' diawa jupiture and love it so i found a 7 footer and grabed it,,they have a very soft tip great for sexy dog,

...This is a very interesting product! I had to try a Lew's baitcast reel!!! The quality and manufacturing of the reel does appear to be first class......... I have not fished it yet ....only to spool it with Seaguar Red Label and take it down the baseball park and cast a few hundred times. I really like the real low profile and will look forward to the Spring Fresh Water Walleye… read more and Bass hunt on the river!! <')\\\\\\\\\\\>< I will keep you posted!!!

This reel comes up under saltwater baitcasting reel. Is it a true saltwater baitcaster?

Hello Dee, this reel is geared towards freshwater fishing. 13 fishing makes some great saltwater baitcasters if you care to give them a look.
