Great lure weight range and the mag works

Ron M.

The original Lew's was a clean sheet of paper, and I've been fishing them since the original BB1-NG, mostly inshore. Way back then, bought my dad a BB-1LM mag and couldn't tell the difference between the mag all the way on or all the way off. That has really changed. The new generation mag on this reel and the Super Duty (larger capacity) really makes a difference. Spinning read more an empty spool, you can see the effect of one notch on the mag adjustment. In practice, a pending backlash on one cast, taking the next notch on the mag adjustment eliminates all backlash on the next cast. The combination of centrifugal and mag gives this reel a wide range in lure weights - it will cast 1/8-oz to well over 1 oz (2 oz, 4 oz?). The drag is great and super smooth. Also own a current BB-1 custom (non-mag) and a Super Duty. Between the 3, this is the reel to pick for casting into the wind. I still don't fish braid except for backing or trolling, but filling the spool halfway with braid and finishing with 12-lb Seaguar fluoro, I can get well over 200 yds on the little spool.

Awesome and Versatile!!

This reel is hard to beat. Worth the price and can be used for many applications such as bass fishing or inshore. On my second year now and no problems what so ever. Caught topwater redfish this past weekend then the next i day i was out-fishing and outcasting my friend with a curado DC while bass fishing.

What we are all looking for ladies and gents.

This reel is smooth and the anti backlash settings are the best I have ever used. We all have to fish in the wind and this reel handles it better than any I have ever used. I know own 3 and ordering the 4th.
