Why is this "Spectra Only" and recommended to NOT use mono?

99% of the time the proper line for deep drop is spectra

Asked by Derek 6 years ago

Is this reel sufficient for swordfish

Devon 6 years ago

It would work but its not ideal. This reel would be more suitable for pulling dredges or deepwater fishing for snapper, tilefish, grouper, etc. For swords we would suggest an LP, Hooker Electric, or Shimano Beastmaster.

The Kristal Fishing XL 621 Dredge Deep Drop Electric Reel does not come with the rod. The Daiwa Tanacom Dendoh Offshore Deep Drop Rod costs $199.99.
