Paired this reel with a 9 ft. ninja dagger rod and the feel of rod and reel is superb. Throwing jigs and hard baits from the surf are a breeze now!

A little overrated for the money.
I take a good amount of time for reel care but this reel needs oil every other time I go out or it gets a hard spot when reeling. It's a annoying quirk.
Other than than that its pretty powerful and has a smooth drag and strong bail.

I found a ffp osprey and redbone rod floating in the saltwater ( gulf of Mexico), picked it up and thought, " oh well, at least I got a rod, the reel must certainly be ruined".
Well, it's been 8 months and the reel still works perfectly!

Great Reel. Lightweight and smooth bearings. Strong as a bull. Caught an 8ft. Shark last week. Fought it about 15minutes
The 8000 whipped the shark.
