Very smooth and light

This reel is very smooth, and very light. The drag also operates very smoothly with a nice smooth engagement. I have a number of these now, and all have been trouble free after a ton of use.

Smooth and light reel

I enjoy using this reel and have no issues so far with it. Tackle Direct was great as well and their delivery was quick.

Almost perfect.

The 2000D-HX is one of the smoothest reels I've owned. I just wish the bail would make some more "noise" when opening and closing it. This should really be a 4 3/4 star rating.

WOW!

Light and SO MUCH BETTER than the Fuego LT. Spend the extra money for the Tatula!

Very Happy, So Far!

Bought one of these reels this spring and mounted it on a Tatula rod for a light "all-day" casting package. This reel, mounted on the Tatula rod, is everything I had hoped for, so far. I don't yet have a full season on it but am very impressed with the smoothness of the reel, generally, and the smoothness of the drag particularly. It is a light reel, and a light package on the read more Tatula rod...no problem casting it all day without weariness.

Excellent balance of power and light weight

This is my first Daiwa and I have to say it is incredibly light and very smooth.

where can you buy a replacement spool for this reel?

Brian - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

Jerry, your best bet for a spare spool would be directly through Daiwa. Their contact information can be found in the link below:

https://daiwa.us/pages/contact

Please let us know if we can assist with anything else

The 1000 size and the 2000 size have the same listed weight as 5.8 Oz. How is this possible?
Are these specs correct?

Brian 4 years ago

Body of the reel is the same and the spool is deeper for more line capacity, otherwise the reel is the same in each size. Specs are directly from Daiwa:

Can i used it for saltwater fishing?

Devon 6 years ago

I would not advise using the Tatula LT for saltwater use. I would suggest a magsealed reel from Daiwa such as the Ballistic LT or Saltist.

How much drag does this reel have?

Devon 7 years ago

Daiwa lists the max drag for each model on their webpage. http://www.daiwa.com/us/contents/reels/tatulalt/index.html
