The rod and reel together make for a decent deep drop setup that can’t be beat for the price. I am very pleased with the product I received. I was trying to locate an extra pier cable for a backup and haven’t been successful which is the reason for the 4 star rating.

Chris,<p>The Daiwa Tanacom 1000 / TNB56HF-DDL combo is not meant for swordfish.  It's a deep drop combo for tilefish, grouper, rosefish and other deep dwellers of similar size.  If your looking for a swordfish combo then the Daiwa Marine Power Swordfish

what kind of electric end or plug does the cable come with?  I have a receptacle on my boat, but I don't know how to describe it.

Seth,<p>The Daiwa Tanacom 1000 electric reel comes with a cable that has battery clips at one end (red/black) and a plug to connect to the reel at the other end.  The reel needs to be connected to a 12V power source or marine battery (stand alone).  Not
