Brilliantly engineered to dominate in any and all blue water environments the Daiwa Saltiga LD Lever Drag Conventional Reels are the most comprehensive series of lever drag reels to ever hit the market. Smooth powerful and ultimately dependable the Saltiga LD achieves performance marks that are noth...ing short of miraculous. Featuring six single-speed models ten two-speed models and two special-purpose tournament style sailfish reels theres a reel to fit the needs of saltwater anglers in any fishery. The Saltiga LD is built around a single-piece machined aluminum frame and side plate to assure precise alignment of bearings and gears for astoundingly smooth performance less flex more power and reduced binding even during the fiercest battles. Also machined from solid aluminum is the spool which will never bend or deform under heavy drag pressures and resists outward expansion so you can tightly wind both braid and monofilament lines with the confidence. Smoothness is preserved over time with the incorporation of all Corrosion Resistant Ball-Bearings (CRBB). At the reels core is a set of oversized extremely durable stainless steel gears perfectly meshed together to execute extreme power transfer with silent precision. Anglers can expect powerful smooth drags thanks to Daiwas acclaimed Advanced Tournament Drag (ATD) system with proprietary grease that helps keep the reel cool during those long drawn out runs by massive game fish. All single-speed and smaller two-speed models along with the high-speed tournament sailfish reels boast soft-touch rubber handles for fast comfortable retrieves. The larger size 50 55 and 60 2-speed models feature a long "T" style offset aluminum power handle to improve leverage and comfort without blistering your hand when the fight is on. Built with jigging in mind the SAGDL35JH features a narrower spool and more compact frame making it lighter weight and more comfortable for use during long jigging sessions. All models feature a substantial spool clicker that is loud enough to be heard as a strike indicator but is not overbearing. Max drag ranges from 22 to 45 pounds for most models while line retrieve per handle turn runs from 39.9" to 47". The tournament style sailfish models (SAGLD50HS and SAGLD60H) have a more finely adjustable drag curve and a max drag setting of 22 pounds making them ideal for use with circle hooks and lighter monofilament lines. These are high speed models with retrieval speeds of up to 56" per handle turn.Daiwa Technology Found in Saltiga LD Conventional Reels:Aluminum Body - Lightweight and incredibly strong aluminium allows strength and weightlessness to be achieved without the cost and corrosion issues of other metals.DigiGear - The all-new DigiGear is precision machine cut and polished. This results in unmatched efficiency better transfer of energy and maximum smoothness.Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearings - Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearings boast a lifespan up to 12 times longer than traditional stainless steel bearings.ATD Drag - The Advanced Tournament Drag system uses a new proprietary grease that enables the reel to apply smooth and consistent start up drag pressure from the first pull eliminating the stop and go pulling of drag that can result in broken lines and lost fish.

I got 55LD 2 speed , perfect size for medium to large tuna, its not too heavy, perfect for jigging since this model is the narrow version of 60LD , handle is perfect in pulling big game!
Daiwa Saltiga 50 2 speed lever drag (what a reel )!
I own One 20, 1 35JH 4 of these 50s and 2 60s. There are many great reels out there no doubt but these are the perfect reels for me! So smooth and powerful. Dead sexy IMHO. QC is top notch, 5 year excellent warranty with free cleaning and inspection, you can not go wrong!
Better than my accurates
I got 35JH (jigging model) for my slow pitch.
To be honest. It feels alot better than my accurate valiant. I would pick this over studio ocean mark.
It is little bigger than valiant 500 size. But it is smaller than valiant 600 n.

<span>Hi Blaise, According to Daiwa, Model: SAGL50-2SPD and Model: SAGLD60-2SPD both have the same handle knob. However, the Saltiga 50 LD 2speed has a shorter handle length than the Saltiga 60 LD 2 Speed. Due to the drag configuration of the 2 speed mode
