One of the best quality/price

This reel maybe is not the smoothest of the market, however its brake can stop 20 pound stripers easily. By being so light gives an extra to pair it with light tackles, with the security of having a 3000 spool with you. Definitely an excellent choice

I've caught all of my personal best using this reel (2500) last year (2021) paired with a 7' air-dx. I caught a 17 lb striper, 13 lb hybrid striped bass, and multiple blue cats over the 15 lbs. Daiwa really meant light and tough when they said it. Only knock on it was the uneven spooling when I first got it (top heavy). I had to add 2 of the plastic washers that came with it to read more level it out.

Great value light reel

I bought a 4000 in new condition from a friend. Its been a good reel after a good bit of use for a year. I’ve used it on a 7’ medium rod for plugging stripers from the boat and in Florida on a 9’ light surf rod for blues and Spanish mackerel from the beach. The reel is the lightest I have for its size, very smooth after a year of use, great free spin and a pleasure to fish. read more My only disappointment is that when under load from bigger fish you feel flex in the body of the reel that you don’t feel with a metal body reel. But the polymer body is what makes it so light.

I love this reel, it is very strong, light, and smooth and is MAGSEALED. I have the 4000 paired with a 7'0'' Diawa TD SOL Inshore rod running 20lb Diawa jbraid and it is perfect for throwing lures all day long.

On the west coast it handles stripped bass and halibut with ease. A huge 60lb stingray took a swimbait and the Fuego was able to haul it in. Surprisingly strong read more reel.

Traveled to Florida with the Fuego and it handled a 35" snook with ease, as well as a 28" red. Also caught some black seabass and sheepshead under docks with it.

This reel does it all.

I got the 2500D-XH with a Fuego rod. The reel performed very well and caught three 3lb. bass with no problem. The reel is very smooth, cast great, and has great drag. If you're in the market for a spinning reel that is decently price this is your best option.

Outstanding value

I use this reel for both freshwater bass fishing and surf fishing. Constantly impressed that it retails for under $100. The reel is very lightweight for the price and I love that it comes in a 6.2:1 gear ratio. The magseal seems to work well, I've only rinsed this reel off after surf fishing and have no problems with the internals.

Great reel and favorite inshore in that price range

The fuego LT is a really smooth n nice all around reel . I think it's the best $100 reel for inshore /freshwater fishing. Drag strength not great so I'd move up to the ballistic for that . Still a great reel and I fish with 3-4 all the time.

Best $100 reel for spinning inshore

Built well and similar to the ballistic . Looks a lot like it just doesn't have the drag power but will still handle bout all u want if you can fish . Love the 1000 n 2500 models.

What is the difference between rhe 2500 dxh and the 2500 d

Brendan - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

Hi Todd, The main difference between the Daiwa Fuego LT 2500D and the 2500DXH is the Gear Ratio. The 2500D has a gear ratio of 5.3:1 or 29.6in of line per crank. The 2500DXH has a gear ratio of 6.2:1 or 34.5in of line per crank of the handle. This

Looking to pair either a Fuego LT or BG with a 7 Ft. spinning Ugly Stik for shore Fluke and other smaller summer fish. Could you recommend an appropriate reel size and model. Thank you.

Donald 6 years ago

The Daiwa BG 3000 would be a good fit for the rod your pairing it with and for the application your using the setup for.

Asked by Will K 6 years ago

Would the Daiwa Fuego 3000 pair nicely with the shimano teramar north east inshore spinning rod medium heavy 12-25lb test line 1/2-2 ounces ? For bucktailing and some small plugs? I won’t be using anything over 3 ounces.

Donald 6 years ago

The Daiwa Fuego 3000 LT is a bit light for the style of fishing your doing. I would advise a Daiwa BG 3000 paired with the NE Teramar MH casting bucktails in that size range.

The Daiwa Ballistic LT 4000 and Daiwa Fuego LT 4000 are the same size class reels.

Asked by Joe M 3 years ago

Would the Daiwa Fuego LT 4000 pair well with a Temple Fork 6’7” Medium Inshore Rod weighing 4.5oz? Or Any other suggestion in the same price range.

Austin - TackleDirect Customer Service 3 years ago

The 3000 would be a better fit for that rod and would balance much more effectively.

Asked by Bengy 3 years ago

Can I use this reel for an 13ft ultra light rod? Or the best possible reel in this line up?

Rick - TackleDirect Customer Service 3 years ago

Bengy,
The Fuego LT 4000 will work for the type of fishing that you are doing. I would usually like a bit bigger reel on a 13ft rod, but since you said that it is ultralight rod the 4000 should fit. Please let us know if there is anything else we can

Brendan - TackleDirect Customer Service 3 years ago

Hi Joseph, The Daiwa FGLT1000D Fuego LT Spinning Reel will be a little light for the rod you are using. I would recommend a Daiwa BG Spinning Reel. Model: BG2500; TackleDirect Code: DAI-2352.https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-bg2500-bg-saltwater-spi

Asked by Bill 6 years ago

Would the 4000 pair well with an 11' rod, rated 3 to 8 but used primarily with fishing 3 to 5 ounces. I have a Saltist 4500 which is a bit large and wondered if the 4000 size would be a better fit though I know the size of 4000 models may vary some.

Bernie 6 years ago

The fuego 4000 would be to small for a 11 foot rod, I would suggest going with the 5500 Shimano Ultegra ci4+ or the 5500 Ultegra xtd

Asked by Billy turtis 6 years ago
