Great Reel

This reel is extremely smooth. I purchased the 2000 model to fish for trout. I own several reels including several Stellas and this one appears to be a little smoother. I will purchase another size once they are back in stock.

I had lost faith in Daiwa reels a while back but they have won me back. I own several Shimano Stella's. Daiwa Exist hands down way better in feel, quality, and design. I am planning to replace my high-end reels with these.

Super light reel

I have the 2500 xh lt for about two months now, paired with a gloomis nrx 921s inshore rod. Caught over 20 redfish and countless specks with it.. Super light reel that is pleasure to fish all day long.

I think it's better than Shimano Stella FJ...
super light and I like how it retrieves.
Only one thing, I am worried about the bail.
I think the bail will come down over the years.
But, the warranty is excellent!

Amazing !

This reel is a dream to own. had mine for about a year haven't had any issues with it. I dropped it in the water and sent it in for service. They serviced is and shipped it back free of charge. i'm considering a second one.

I give Freshwater Daiwa products three stars because i am biased

Their freshwater products seem to be "ok" ,but their saltwater products are terrible.Had mine for a year and so did a friend (bought at the same time). Within the first month had a grinding in the ball bearings. I don't do any beach fishing at all so i assumed that i got salt inside of it and cleaned it to no avail. A week later my friend's reel started doing the same. Now both read more of these reels were thoroughly cleaned after each use. Luckily another friend of ours knew a Daiwa rep, and we got all of the internals replaced for free. Upon receiving it ,worked great.....for about a month again..... I went as far as to replace the "sealed" ball bearings inside with ceramic ones i bought online, which did help, but has not totally absolved the issue with their crappy bearings grinding and locking up. Maybe in fresh water this will be different and i will be proven wrong, but i doubt shoddy craftsmanship does not transfer over to fresh water also.

Super lightweight

Best spinning reel I’ve used. Super light and tough smooth 22# of drag. The 2500 series balances perfectly on the steez AGS mlsxa rod
