I am a proud PENN user , and this is my first AVET reel , it feels stronger , and better in the hands and it has a customizable feel to it. Very durable and has a great / comfortable handle. Would recommend.

I'm an old school Penn Reels guy who still tries to keep my "Made in USA" Penn reels functioning. As those who know, this is becoming more difficult to do. Therefore as some of my tools become more and more obsolete, I looked for alternatives for replacement . I can think of no better replacements than Avet. American made workhorse reels that get the job done. Excessively… read more strong drags with smooth start up inertia with a predictable adjustment lever. Simplistic in design which is exactly what a reel should be. I see myself eventually switching my entire arsenal over to Avets. Bravo!

This reel has plenty of drag to deal with larger fish and lots of line capacity. Spooled it with braid and top shot of mono.

Ive owned the reel for about 3 years now, and its been dunked in the surf, dunked in several lakes and rivers and Ive only serviced it once by myself. Super easy to maintain. I recommend the Avet brand to all my friends, very smooth reel and can cast a mile.

Do you have these reel with the rings, to clip and harness on?

The LX size does not come with harness lugs, you would need to jump up to the HX series for harness lugs. HXJ non Raptor does not have harness lugs either, while raptor model HXJ, all HX, and all HXW do at this time.
