No where as good as the originals
Rod butt was shortened....now too short. No rubber gimble cover. Heavy metal eyes add unwanted weight. All changes that were supposed to improve the rod did the opposite. I will not be buying another unless they revert back to the way they were made several years ago.
Got one for 7$
just got the 1-3 oz model on a close out sale for 7$, i couldnt see leaving it there even if i didnt need it. i have a fierce 8000 that i am going to put on it to wrestle cod around with.
Great price for a solid rod.
I bought a couple of these in the 12-25# line 7' model, intending to use them as a general purpose rod. They work well for soaking baits, live or chunk, also flatlining for kings, you can troll with them too (caught kings and spanish both, as well as a couple bonita). The rod is a bit bulky, but can be used to jig, at least in the shallower 30-60 foot deep wrecks near shore. … read more I have also used it as a pier rod and caught some 3-4 pound jack crevalle. Working a lure and casting a lot is a workout with this paired with a 5000 class reel, but for the price its hard to beat. I like the no insert guides on it too, I have had a lot of rods where the insert chips or cracks.
Beast of a rod
Will throw heavy weight
It won't handle eight ounces
It says 5 to 8 oz, but it'll never do 8. If you want to sling 5 a better distance, it'll work, but get yourself a proper surf rod. This isn't it.
Ugly Stik - Beautiful Deal
Quality surf rod. Excellent company to buy from. Action is great. Rod handles well. Load it up and sling it out of sight. In fact, think I'l buy a 2nd one from Tackle Direct right now.
15ft surf fishing rod
This rod paired with a daiwa 8000 make a great casting combination for land based shark fishing. The 15ft is longer and larger to transport. But I also have a few 12ft versions and the extra 3ft does help with casting. I have not been able to find a better rod for the price.
Value, Value, Value
Best rod for the money out there. Cant break them and if you do they have a great warranty
Tough rods and great value
I have two of these that I use mostly for casting, bottom fishing and some trolling. The rods are very tough and for $60 they are a great value. I've overloaded these rods many times when trolling and pulling up ghost crab pots and they don't break.
Solid Value
Love it. Wish we could get the rest of the Ugly Stik's ordered. Thank you.
The Shimano Tiralejo Surf Spinning Rod in the 10 foot 30-65 line weight would work for how and what you're fishing for.
27 oz's
Hello Jason,

The 12 foot ugly stick bigwater is discontinued

Hi Austin, The BG 4000 would be a little small for that rod. Instead I would recommend a Daiwa BG8000 BG Saltwater Spinning Reel. https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-bg8000-bg-saltwater-spinning-reel.html This would pair and balan
This is a monofilament rating. These can surely handle braided line though and you could go slightly heavier on the braid than the mono rating.

Yes they are the same rod, different wording. Currently we only offer the Bigwater Surf rod by UglyStik
It's hard to recommend this rod for a Saragosa 10k size reel without knowing the kind of fishing you are looking to do, with that being said these rods are tanks, and will be able to handle most of anything you throw there way.
I would assume that this
Line ratings on these are your traditional monofilament ratings, you can surely use braid on these though and go a class or two higher in braid.
The USBWSF1530S902 is a moderate action
This rod will work. I recommend the 9' or 10' Medium Heavy surf rods.
Hi Sir! It would be preferable for you to order on Monday so that you could have it by the end of the week or the beginning of next week. That 4 day time frame is an estimate and it depends on if we are backed up in packaging and shipping orders. There is
