NICE WELL MADE TROLLING RODS FOR THE MONEY

Rodrigo

I have not yet used these rods since I purchased them during the winter. I have outfitted them with shimano tekota 700's and depth hunter braided line to use anything from mojo rigs to umbrellas to stretches.
I do own and also use Tony Maja rods with Tekota 800's with wire line but those are strictly for my bunker spoons....If you plan on using strictly for spoons then the read more tony mama's do the job but at double the price... if you plan on using different rigs then these should get the job done.... nice quality for the money

Decent Starter Rod

I bought this rod because this spring is the first time I've given wire lining spoons a serious go. I didn't want to break the bank so went with this one. I've trolled it 3 times now and have brought in a few decent stripers. It gives the requisite "pulsing" while trolling and it has decent power with a fish on. Overall, a good rod for the price.

Tsunami Trophy Wire Line Casting Rods Questions and Answers

I am looking for an all purpose conventional rod for deep sea fishing and striped bass trolling and jigging. Would this rid be a good choice?

Brendan - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

<span>Hi Seth, Do you plan to use wireline? I would not suggest the Tsunami Trophy Wire Line Casting Rods unless you plan on using wireline for trolling bunker spoons. I would recommend the St. Croix MSWC70MHF Mojo Salt Conventional Rod: TackleDirect Code

What strength is this rod, I see it says heavy wire. Although I was wondering if it was similar to a medium heavy? Also does the rod have a soft tip?

Austin Kearney 3 years ago

The "Heavy-Wire" you see for the power rating simply describes that this is a H power rod rated for wire. It has a soft tip for detecting hits and the blank, itself, is designed with increased overall sensitivity.

I'm looking for an economical trolling rod mainly for bunker spoons for striped bass inshore, but also something versatile for occasional offshore use (Bonito, Skipjack, Mahi). Would the 7'6" Wire Line rod (TSTBC-761HW) or the Airwave Jigging Casting Rod

Rebecca Redington 4 years ago

The Tsunami TSTBC761HW Trophy Wire Line Rod would be the better choice since it is mainly designed for trolling spoons especially wire and can be used for other applications. The Airwave is better for jigging but can work if that is the rod you decide on.
