Excellent rod can be used inshore

Sebastien

This is a great rod when paired with a 5000 size reel. its light and can cast but not heavy jigs. stick to the 30-60g range. the rod is more about finesse and not advisable for use in heavy cover. otherwise its great playing fish and 40 pound braid is the sweet spot.

Got this rod for multiple uses, some back bay fluking as well as blackfish jigging/jetty use. the rod is well balanced and responsive. I actually like the squareness of the eva grips.

Slow Pitch?? yet it's a good porgy & blackfish rod

Slow Pitch?? yet it's a good Bluefish jigging rod.
I tested this Tsunami TSSPJS-601MH Trophy Series Slow Pitch Jigging Spinning Rod for Mackerel, Bonito, Bluefish, and False Albacore light jigging in 2017 and Porgy bottom fishing in June 2018. I also have Tsunami SWSPS601-M Slim Wave Spinning Rod and I like to use Slim wave for bottom fishing. The sensitivity is better and read more I can swing fish over the boat better. Yet, Trophy Series Slow Pitch rod is better for LIGHT JIGGING NOT SLOW PITCH JIGGING. it doesn't provide the slow pitch action that I would like but it does provide a fair action for light jigging. Specially, New England Striper and Bluefish diamond jigging action.

Feels perfect

Great balance and weight. Feels perfect in my hand, after taking a few practice casts. Can't wait to hit the water and see what she can do.

Light as a feather strong as a bull

Was looking at this rod and finally got to test it out. Picked it up and new right away it was EXACTLY what I wanted. Killer fluke rod, jigging seabass, blackfish jigging, jigging stripers, casting shads, clamming, eeling and with a heavy enough reel livelining bunker can all be done with this. Balanced fantastically to be fished all day without fatigue

would the TTSPJH 7D1H-7 work with nichols 9 inch flutter spoons for stripers?

Brendan - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

<span>Hi Frank, The Tsunami TSSPJS-701H Trophy Series Slow Pitch Jigging Spinning Rod would be a little light to use due to the lure weight rating max at 4 1/4 oz. The Nichols Lures Ben Parker Super Magnum Spoon - 9in weighs 4.5oz. For this reason I woul

Which model of this rod would (MH or H)match best with a 5000 series Penn Battle reel for slow pitch jigging using 100-150 size jigs?

Donald 6 years ago

The MH would be the best match to pair with the Penn Battle 5000 for the application the rod and reel will be used for.

still confused as to what slow pitch is vs the standard tsunami jigging rod?

Donald 6 years ago

Slow pitch rods have very specific actions. They are thin in diameter, highly resilient blanks. Their guides and reel seats are designed for maximum sensitivity. They have a slow tapered parabolic action that easily bends deep through the whole length whi

Asked by Steve 5 years ago

would the 6,0 MH spinning rod be good for diamond jigging for seabass with jigs up to 3 oz? I already use the slimwaves for this and they are great.

Bernie De Graaf 5 years ago

That would be good for jigging sea bass. Usually with slow pitch rods you're overloading them with weight when jigging.

Does the spinning series has the split butt as in photos. ? And is it good match for Socorro 5000/6000 and<br>Shimano baitrunner 4000D ?

KRAIG FRIEDMAN 5 years ago

Yes, the spinning series does have the split grip. The Socorro 5000/600 would be OK for the heavy and the 4000<p>will work on the med. heavy or heavy.</p>

Does this rod have to be jigged only? Can you bait fish with it? <p>Bunker chunk while anchored or live line. Regular Hook and sinker topped with spearing and squid ?</p>

Rebecca Redington 4 years ago

These are designed for a specific jigging style, we do not recommend this rod for your application.

Looking to pair ssv4500 with 20lb braid for jigging 1-3oz. jigs for snappers, mackerel, sea bass, football tunas. Which rod would you recommend, M or MH? Need enough backbone to bully fish from rocks and sharks sometimes and or sling at busting fish.<p>Th

Sydney 4 years ago

The MH would be my recommendation. Not only will it give you more power on your hook set when jigging, but also more strength against the bigger fish. This will also increase your popping/topwater capabilities as well.

Would any of these rods be a good match for the Saragosa 6000? I’m debating between this rod and the shimano trevala butterfly jigging rod

Rick - TackleDirect Customer Service 3 years ago

Carson,<p>The Tsunami Trophy Series Slow Pitch rod TSSPJS-661MH will pair nicely with the Shimano Saragosa 6000.  It just depends on what you are targeting as to which rod is a better choice.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you

<span>The Tsunami Trophy Series Slow Pitch Jigging Spinning Rods are intended to be used for slow pitch jigging rods for saltwater. I would recommend a St. Croix PS70HF Premier Spinning Rod. </span><a>https://www.tackledirect.com/croixps70hf.html</a><span

Bernie 6 years ago

The Tsunami Trophy Series Slow Pitch Jigging Spinning Rod weighs 6.4 oz's.

Asked by Salt Curious 6 years ago

Would the MH or H be better suited for blackfish(tautog) jigging, in 20-40 ft of water?

Bernie 6 years ago

Either one would suffice but if your using heavier jigs you may want to consider the heavy as opposed to the medium heavy.

Asked by craig 5 years ago

What size shimano stradic CI4 would you pair with the H rated rod for blackfish? Thank you

The 4000 and while you can use this reel for blackfish jigging there are better options that will balance out better with the heavy Tsunami Trophy Series Slow Pitch Jigging Spinning Rods

Asked by Mike 5 years ago

Does the rod tip of this rod flex while your jigging or just when you have a fish on?

Bernie De Graaf 5 years ago

The Tsunami slow pitch rods are parabolic meaning they are designed to flex far down the blank to create the slow pitch jigging effect

Asked by Justin 5 years ago

Would the MH be good for jigging plastics and 1/4 crabs for larger red fish, sheepshead and stripper? Paired with a spinfisher VI 3500/45000

Bernie De Graaf 5 years ago

The medium heavy would be fine. Slow Pitch rods are very parabolic meaning how they flex nearly all the way to foregrip. They are super strong strong rods.
