Fills a need!

Perfect for throwing light flounder rigs in the surf. First rod had some guide damage. Tackle Direct replaced it seamlessly, no questions asked.

Perfect rod for tog jig

Joshua

I have the 7foot medium heavy spinning rod paired with the tsunami evict 3000 reel spooled with 15lb power pro v2 super slick. Probably one of the best tog jigging set ups you can buy, and at a reasonable cost. Super soft tip, tons of backbone and super light. If you see the picture attached with the review, the rod is in the holder on the gunwale on the left.

6'4 MH

Durable light rod. Again issues on a piece that isnt glued properly on all of its rod. I own 8 of these rods mix of cast and spinning and the issue has happened to 5 so far. The piece is a fitting on the handle above reel seat. Super glue easy fix but shouldnt happen on 5 rods that are $125+

Great rod for back bay

Nice and light and sensitive

Love the rod hate the guides

Brian

I love the strength flexibility and sensitivity of this rod. I just can’t get past the Fuji guides. Maybe just me (maybe I have sloppy style?) but I am constantly getting the braided line hung up in the upper guides. Seems the upper guides have one mounting foot and more of an angled area for the line to hang up and wrap around the eyes versus the lower guides with two mounting read more points.

Bought both casting and spinning version but was only able to return the unused spinning. May consider changing out the upper guides or selling the rod. Very frustrating.

Awesome light weight jogging rod.

Definitely would recommend this rod again. Tsunami has been a recent go to for nice budget rods. This slim wave is no different!

It maybe thin and soft action but it has a strong backbone! This is my light jigging rod for fluke, seabass and Tog. But I am able to land Blues inbthe 10lb range.

Well versatile rod

Good for piers and boat. Light but strong back bone. For it's size it can handle a lot of weight.

Wanted to try slow pitch jigging so I bought this rod a while ago, have caught red snapper and a bunch of other bottom fish as well as amberjack on it and haven’t had any problems yet.

Andrew Montagna 5 years ago

25LB Mono would be just fine, the lighter the line the longer the casting capabilities.

Asked by Angel 4 years ago

Can any of these spinning models handle 1-4oz lures?

Bernie De Graaf 4 years ago

The 6 foot can handle up to 3 oz's and you can always go slightly above the lure rating especially only one oz

Asked by Chase 4 years ago

Would the Saragosa 5000 fit the 6’4” MH rod? I’m also looking at the Daiwa backbay saltist 4000 as a potential reel to fit this as well.

KRAIG FRIEDMAN 4 years ago

The Daiwa would be a better fit.

Asked by Kevin 4 years ago

Are the lure ratings for vertical jigging or casting?

Sydney 4 years ago

Thelure rating is the maximum recommended lure weight regardless of casting orjigging. If you have any other questions please ask.

Asked by Craig Rossi 3 years ago

the 7 MH slim wave says line weight is up to 30lbs. is that momo or braid. i was looking to put on 40lb braid with 30lb leader on a 5000 reel. will this rod be ok

William Larkin 3 years ago

The line rating refers to Braided line. It is not recommended to use heavier line than the rating however 40lb should be doable with this rod. You may lose some casting distance

Asked by Wayne 3 years ago

Does the 6ft spinning rod have a lure raring to 3 oz or is the rating wrong on site? I see it rated to 3oz on other sites. Would a BG3000 match well for inshore and bay flunking, sea bass etc?

Billy - TackleDirect Customer Service 3 years ago

The 6' would match well with a 3000 sized reel however I wouldn't throw any lures over 1.5 oz with this rod.

Asked by Pat 4 years ago

I asked a previous question about pairing with a saltist 3000. You guys recommend ed the 6-6 heavy. I went ahead and purchased a Penn Slammer 3500 from You. Would You still stick with the 6.6 ft heavy with this reel?

Alyssa Madosky 4 years ago

Yes, the heavy would also pair great with that H model.

Asked by Salt Curious 6 years ago

Are the casting version rods spiral wrapped, like the slow pitch series?

Bernie 6 years ago

The casting version is not spiral wrapped.

Asked by OCMD John 6 years ago

Do the casting models have a trigger on the reel seat?

The casting models do have a trigger grip

Asked by Anthony 5 years ago

This rod and my lexa 300 for stripers what do you think

Asked by MICHAEL MONACO 5 years ago

I just purchased this rod 7mh I have been looking at it for a long time and saw it on sale so I couldn't pass it up but the tip is so light I'm not sure on how it'll work for me.What applications would you recommend this rod for and what els would you rec

Bernie 5 years ago

The mh would make a good backbay rod.

Asked by Jesse 5 years ago

Would the swsps701-h pair well with my saragosa 6k?

Bernie 5 years ago

The Shimano Saragosa 6000 would be to big for the slim wave, a 4000 nasci or a shimano stradic fk 4000 or 5000 would be a good pair for that rod.

Asked by John 4 years ago

Would a vr50 pair well with a 7ft m or mh

Bernie De Graaf 4 years ago

The vr50 would pair up very well with the 7 mh slim wave

Asked by Eric Harris 4 years ago

How would I access the warranty for the slimwave. I have a slimwave 6’4” MH. My 15 ur old hooked. A large catfish and the end of the rod broke off.

[email protected]

Bernie De Graaf 4 years ago

Depends on how old the rod is would determine if we can take care of the warranty it may need to go through bimini bay outfitters(tsunami)

Asked by Steve 4 years ago

I already own the 7,0 MH spinning rod and wanted to get another one, what would the 6,0 Spinning rod be good for?

Alyssa Madosky 4 years ago

The 6ft model would be perfect for back bays. Fluke fishing, top-water fishing for blues and striper. It handles up to 3oz so it also would work for bottom fishing for Tau-tog and sea-bass.

Asked by Michael Day 4 years ago

Would the 7ft med. Spin model be overkill for speckled trout fishing down here in fla.thx in advance:)

Bernie De Graaf 4 years ago

Hello Michael, the medium would be fine for speckled trout

Asked by Rob 4 years ago

I fish for fluke ratitanbay/sandyhook area bay and ocean. Which one would be good for ocean fishing??

Alyssa Madosky 4 years ago

Depends on if you prefer a spinning or casting rod when you fish. So if you were looking for a casting rod we would recommend the tsu-0221. This is a 6ft 6in length with the 3/4-4oz lure rating keeps sensitivity while fluke fishing and gives you versatili

Asked by Jt 4 years ago

Hi I own a Shimano Torium 16hglh which rods would work best
Thanks

Alyssa Madosky 4 years ago

Depends on the application however the TSU-0221 would pair nicely with your Torium. This is a popular model in the slim waves because of the light over all build but being able to load the rod with anything from 3/4 to 4 oz.

Asked by Pat 4 years ago

What would pair best with a saltist 3000 for tog
jigging on party boats?

Alyssa Madosky 4 years ago

The 6ft 6 H would be great for togging on party boats. It is great for those shallow waters with minimal current using 1-2oz jigs. Also is great for the deeper jigging and heavier currents when you need 3-4oz jigs.
