Great Fishing Rod!

Ernie B.

I've had the chance to use this Fishing Rod several times now and am extremely pleased.
This replaced my ancient Abu Garcia Surf Casting rod that had been my favorite for years.
The best part of my purchase was the price. I think I got more than my money's worth.

Thank you, Tackle Direct for an easy-to-navigate and straightforward website and an Excellent selection!

Good grip, nice looking rod, I have 10’ XH. Casts pretty far.

Only surf rods I deal with

Phong

Have 3 of these and had one broken due to closing my trunk on it. These rods are light, cast a mile if you know how and strong. Have caught everything from redfish, bluefish, mackerels, pompanos and even croakers on these. Do yourself a favor and dont go cheap and go with these!

Cast well and built strong

have used the rod for the past four years and it has lasted threw being dropped on the rocks and ever falling and it slammed into the sand. it casts very well and is very duriable when fighting big striped bass in the canal.

12 foot heavy airwave

Great casting rod however I have broke two of them casting a 3 ounce weight with small bait and 30 lb braid. Pole is definitely over rated. Tsunami has replaced one for free so far.

TSAWSS-1102H - Excellent Rod for the Price

I have paired it with Ultegra 5500. What a beautiful combo. Extremely light. Excellent to fish with bunker. I haven't tried plugging with it yet but it seems promising. For the money, it makes such an excellent beginner / backup rod.

As advertised

would recommend this rod

Better than G.Loomis

Brian

G.Loomis is $600. Tsunami is $140. If I have all the money in the world I'd still pick Tsunami. It's LIGHTER, cheaper, better look, feels great. I fish for Stripbass 10-30 fish and these are best I found

The best

Light rod, strong but sensitive.

12' H 4-6oz

Its very light compare to other 12', however it doesnt cast as far, and for $150 rod i expected the guides could be a little bit better, they scratch easily

Snapped in half.

I had this rod in Nantucket and on my first cast, it snapped below the first eye. The rod looked great and felt solid, but that "lighter than air technology" did not hold up. I must have got a lemon so I won't give it 1 star. I emailed Tsunami and they never responded.

Excellent

Light and strong, a pleasure to fish with. I love it for flounder fishing.

Always loved these rods. Just got an 8' surf and it broke w 3oz weight on it?

Donnie

Good rods but always bought 9'. Just got an 8' and broke on first cast. Maybe a lemon. Buying a star stellar 8' though

Excellent rod ,light weight,I use these rods fishing for strippers and large blue catfish in discharge waters below dam

Ask a Question

Asked by jo 3 years ago

Which Penn Spinfisher reels would pair nicely with the 10' MH version of this rod?  Interested in either the Spinfisher VI standard and long-cast versions.  THANKS!

Austin Kearney 3 years ago

The 6500 size would balance well. As far as which version to get, it really depends on if you want/need the extra casting distance provided with the LC. If that's the case, then I would go with the LC model.

Asked by Rod Biggs 3 years ago

I usually use 65 lb braid with my Penn Battle 3 reel snagging for spoonbill casting 3-5 oz sinkers with #8 treble hooks. My question is which rod would be best the 11 or 12’ heavy or XH ?  I still want to reach out really far without compromising anything

William Larkin 3 years ago

You will certainly get some extra casting distance with the 12' rod, and if you're going to use 65lb braid I would recommend the Extra Heavy. The 11' extra heavy is still a good option as well, but if you want that extra distance go with the 12.
