Nice Rod
Good for surfcasting and feels great with the 70/30 split
Great rod for the money
I bought one of these while I was waiting for a custom rod to be repaired. It's a very decent rod for the money. Paired with a long-cast reel, this rod will let you throw lures in the same league as some of the big boys. I still have this rod around, and use it as a guest rod when friends visit and don't bring their own gear. They are usually impressed by the distance they are…

able to squeeze out of this rod.
It fights fish great. Plenty of backbone - I've never felt under-gunned even with some pretty decent fish.
I would very much recommend this to someone just getting into surfcasting or not looking to break the bank on some gear to get into fish.
Good backbone
work well with lure and bait
Tsunami TSAWESS-1202XXH Airwave Elite Surf Spinning Rod
I have many rods and this is my favorite rod for stripers, blues etc. Caught a 70# striper last year on it.
Versatile rod, 70/30 split is great!
I like the 70/30 split. It gives me some extra confidence in the spine, and I don't have to worry about half the rod getting out of alignment.
The 3/4-3 Oz rating is great for tossing 2oz spoons and plugs in the surf.
This clearly isn't an 8nbait rod, but feels very versatile. I wanted something that could do surf and jetties, and this really fits the bill…

for me.
Upgrade to standard
i have seen a bunch of the standard airwave series break, on fish, snags and rocks.
the elite series however i have seen catch the biggest fish i have ever seen
light weight blank that distributes the load evenly through out.
Great rod, great price
Love this rod! Paired with a Diawa 3500 is quite the combo! Gets me out far enough in the surf for some sweet Pompano action and strong enough to wrestle in big reds and snook!
Strong and light
Great rod so far. Will cast a 6oz weigh and a 12 inch bluefish pretty well. Had one shark on and I forgot to loosen the drag on a 10500 with 80lb braid. The rod bent all the way over but did not break. Before I could get to it, the rod holder broke and the combo went surfing. I chased after it but wasnt quick enough. I thought it would be half way to Cuba the next day. Some pompano… read more fishermen actually snagged it the next morning in the trough (shark not still attached) and gave it back to me. I rinsed it off and it is as good as new. Must be a tough rod to put up with that abuse.
Great Fighter rod!!!
I'm own 1002XH for 3 years now using mostly on jetties, fishing for Kings, JT's Bullreds, Sharks...So far all good, have no problem with the rod or guides. But a couple times just cut the main line because of large shark attack and swallow my King.
So far so good
Lightweight for its size. the 1002 xh likes the 3-4 better than 2 weight it seems for me.
High quality
First time I bought a higher quality rod. Felt the difference immediately. Really like the 70/30 split
8’8” Great Light Surf Rod
The 88 is perfect for playing with schoolie stripers, blues and albies. It does best with 3/4 to 1.5oz lures, doesnt really load well with 1/2oz but it will work well enough for that in a pinch. The action is a little soft but overall it works really well and that seems to help with throwing lighter plugs like small mag darters without having them wobble as much on the cast.
Tsunamai Airwave Elite 1102M
I have several many more expensive rods ........... But, I always gravitate to this one .......
I throw a lot of swimbaits at the Cape Cod Canal, which cast terribly ..... This rod gets the most out of them ......
Also casting metals into the wind on the beach, this rod outperforms my Century for distance ...... lighter lure scale, a little looser ......

I also have a 11'4" I use on the Canal for jigging heavy 5/6oz, in heavy current .... Very stiff to get the jig off the bottom and can turn big fish in heavy current .....
For me, the very best value in surf rods ....... sub $200.00 .......
Great rod
Bought it as a heaver for drums at the OBX. Its light weight and can cast 8nBait. Would consider it an entry heaver.
The Penn Spinfisher V 6500 would be a perfect reel for that application. The 9' 3" or the 10" rod would pair with the reel great.
The VR50 works best with 7-8' rods. It is used commonly on lighter 9' set-ups. It can work, but the 150 size is more ideal.
I would go with the 1102M or Heavy would work also

Niko,
The Shimano Speed Master XTC 1400 surf reel and the Tsunami Airwave Elite TSAWESS-1202XXH surf rod would pair and balance very nicely for shark fishing in the surf. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Ken,
The Tsunami Airwave Elite Surf rod TSAWESS-1062MH (TSU-0092) would pair the best with Shimano Spheros 8000 for throwing plugs / tins. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

As long as you use a heavy enough lure and proper line for this rod, you should be able to get extreme casting distances with the 12' model.Â
This rod is designed for Surf fishing, so if you plan on targeting these 30 kilo fish from the Surf or shore, it should handle them well.Â

Models TSAWESS882M, TSAWESS962M , TSAWESS1062M , TSAWESS1102H are 70
I would go with the 6500 in this case, as it would balance better on that rod.
I would recommend this rod over the penn Prevail for big sharks
Thanks for reaching out about our products!
It looks like this 10'6 model fits the bill for the specs you are looking for and would certainly work for your desired application.

https://www.tackledirect.com/tsunami-tsawess-1062mh-airwave-elite-surf
The 11" H will make a great fit for your reel while giving you lots of versatility.
https://www.tackledirect.com/tsunami-tsawess-1102h-airwave-elite-surf
XH Refers to the stiffness of the rod. If you plan on using moving baits, I recommend getting something that will bend more at the tip. Like a H or MH. 6000 or 6500 is the right class of reel for that type of rod.Â
A Battle II 5000 is not going to be too big for your 9'6" rod, though a 10' rod would fit slightly better. There is no need for the switch unless you would prefer the extra half of a foot to match the extra bit of power.Â
A VR50 would not balance out well on a 10'6" surf rod since it is extremely lightweight, at around 9oz but you could certainly use it on one.Â
This model is a 70/30 splitÂ
From the butt to the bottom of the reel seat is 17 1/4 in.Â
I would recommend 5000 to 6000 should be perfect.
The 9'3" or 10' will pair with a 4500 well. If you want to cast for we suggest going with the 10'.Â
The Mojo Surf from St. Croix is a lighter rod blank but with great action and backbone. Â
This would be a 70/30 split.Â
Hello Marlin, this rod weighs 1 pound even.
Most models are available for purchase now but usually take 1 to 2 weeks for delivery of a out of stock item.Â
x
Yes, they should pair well.
The 12 foot xxh would probably be your best bet as the water current runs through that area fast .Â
15-30 line weight, 1-4 oz lure ratingÂ
The best all around fishing for chunking and popping would be the 10'6 mh rated up to 3 1/2 oz Â
1-4 OZÂ
Both rods would fit but depending on what type of fishing your doing(lures or cutbait) would really determine which rod you should purchase.
The xxh would be to heavy, the 10 foot xh would be a good choice as its rated for 3 - 6oz
This rod has a fast action.
Our return is a 30 day un-used policy. Any broken rod within that one year warranty would need to be covered by the manufacture. Lamiglas and Tsunami equally have great warranties.
The 10ft mh insane surf from Lamiglas would be your best all around rod, a good blend of power and fell for shunking as well as throwing plugs.
For 1-4 oz lures I would go for the Medium Heavy, less stress on the rod.Â
This rod weighs 15.2 oz's
Hello Sal, It looks more like a 60/40 split but it would be a great rod for chunking.
The 4000 shield would pair up nice with the 9'3 airwave elite surf.
The TSAWESS-1062 MH weighs in at 1 pound 7.2 oz's and both those rods are equally as good depends on what your using it for and personal preference
Hi Craig, Depending on your fishing application, I would recommend a Tsunami TSAWESS-1102H Airwave Elite Surf Spinning Rod. https://www.tackledi
