Great little rods at a great price

Kenneth

I bought a pair of these rods (6'6" MH) for inshore applications (mostly fluking) to pair with some hot-rodded 146 Penn Squidders I built. The fit and finish is outstanding. They're Medium Heavy power with fast action in the tip, which is what I'm looking for. They seem to handle jigs well up to about 2-3 oz.

Perfect for Inshore Snappers

Andrew

I got the Stellar Lite 8-16 lb. 6' 6" model for inshore mangrove and yellowtail snappers and it is perfect for the job. I paired it with a Daiwa Fuego LT 3000 loaded with 12 lb. mono. It is a lightweight set up that can be fished all day, sensitive but with enough stiffness to land bigger fish if I get lucky. Highly recommended.

Great Rod at a Great Price

This is a really nice rod. The finish is great on the rod I got. Recently used it on a trip to Canada and easily handled some big lures and big northern pike. I also used it while trolling for lake trout and it handled a 1oz spoon and 1.5oz weight with no problem.

Star Rods Stellar Lite series

Star Stellar lite rods are by far the most durable and comfortable rods to fish with. Great power without the added weight. They come in so many lengths and weights to fish any situation. It's like having a custom rod at a great price without breaking the bank.

I have several of these rods from spinning to conventional. The conventional is my go to rod when I need power in strong current situations. It is light weight and has a big backbone.

Wonder why there aren't more in the North East

Love this rod. It's light, flexible and durable. I know the company who make the rods are based in the Southeast, but I'm surprised there aren't more Star Rods in the Northeast. I have a blast catching summer and late season stripers up in the Northeast on this rod every season!

Best Inshore rod made

I have recently purchased a half dozen of these and after using each one personally I think they are the best rods for the dollar that anyone could spend their money on.
I have been using Star rods almost twenty years and I have never had a problem with any of them.

Asked by Anthony 4 years ago

Which rods would pair best with a Shimano Baitrunner 6000D and Penn Spinfisher VI 4500? I’m looking for a 7 foot rod to toss live eels when fishing for stripers

Sydney 4 years ago

The 7'M or 7'MH Star Stellar Lite Spinning Rods would be your best options for your reel selections.

Asked by darian 7 years ago

Hi there, would the shimano nasci 4000 with 20lb braid pair well on the 7'6 medium?

Devon 7 years ago

The 7'6" medium Stellar Lite paired with the Nasci 4000 would be a very well balanced inshore setup.

Asked by Sam 7 years ago

Which rod would be a better fit for a quantum cabo 80 that would be used for fishing off of piers for big snook and other big game fish, the SG1525FT80 or the SG1530S80?

Donald 7 years ago

The Star Stellar Lite SG1530S80 would be a better fit fishing from a pier for snook. You want a rod with a bit more backbone fishing from a pier and this rod would do just that.

Asked by WillK 6 years ago

Would a penn conflict 2 3000 fit very comfortably on the star rod stellar lite SG1020ISM STA-0102 Spinning Line weight 10-20 lure weight 1/2 - 1 1/2 7ft 1 pc Medium?

Donald 6 years ago

The Penn Conflict II 3000 fits comfortably on the SG1020ISM. I would recommend looking even at the 4000 as well for more line capacity.

Asked by Payten 6 years ago

If I have a Stradic 5000, out of the 2, would the 7’ mh 12-20 or the 7’ medium feel better. Would be using it kinda all around but mostly inshore, reds, trout, and some pier fishing every once in a while

Donald 6 years ago

The 7' M power Star Stellar Lite rod would be a great fit for the Stradic 5000 battling reds, trout and more.

Hi Judy, The 8ft Star Rod SG1530S80 Stellar Lite model would be a little top heavy and slightly unbalanced with your Daiwa Certate 4000. I would recommend model: SG1525ISM; TD Code: STA-0103. https://www.tackledirect.com/star-rods-sg1525is
