Like the feel of this rod - only one issue

Like the feel of the rod for inshore fishing. Works well for my kayak fishing as well. Only problem is that the part that holds my reel continues to loosen and needs to be re-tightened. May need to put something on that to keep it tight.

Star rods are all reliable and sturdy. There is no better value in a rod company. In the $100-300 price range, I would not suggest straying far! I combine the 7'6" Stellar Lite Fast Taper rod with a Stradic FK 3000 for a killer inshore combo. 10lb Power Pro with 30lb mono liter and you'll be killing reds, snook, mangrove snapper, and all your favorite species in no time!

Awesome Rod

This rod is great! the sensitivity is good and you can cast very far. It still has enough back bone for jigging which I like and do the most of but crack baits work well also. This is by far my favorite rod in my arsenal.

Great Rod

I've had this rod for quite a while now and have had absolutely no problems with it. Everything seems to be built very well with quality components. As long as you use the correct line and lure size the rod is rated for it works very well. I primarily use it for crank and jerk baits because the rod tip is too flexible for certain jigs; however, it does work well with a 1/4 oz jig read more head with a gulp shrimp bouncing off the bottom.

Great action for casting light lures under docks and mangroves.Tip and next two guides should be larger diameter to keep knots from knocking.

Bryan,<p>The Star Stellar Lite (fast taper) rods were designed to be able to throw lighter / smaller soft plastics and lures.  The regular Stellar Lite rods have regular actions from light to heavy that will handle all types of lures based on rated lure w
