I borrowed this rod from a friend and used it for 2 days. Highly impressed with the sensitivity; could feel every tiny bite and the wobble from spinner blades and paddle tail minnows upon retrieve. Achieved outstanding distance and accuracy with casting. I had to buy one. TackleDirect had a great price and stock on hand!

I have owned custom rods, high end rods, middle of the road rods, and Star rods. I used to think higher price meant better quality. Ive found that higher price usually just means youre paying for the name only. I am sure thats not always the case but it has been my experience w a lot of rods. With that said, anytime I buy a new rod, its a Star rod. Hands down. Great quality,… read more affordable price, plenty of options, and one hell of a warranty program. Broke the tip off your rod by slamming it in your tailgate? No questions asked replacement. That kind of customer loyalty makes my rod purchase an easy choice.

This is an excellent rod for the money. Quality components and seems to be made quite well. The finish is great. Definitely has some backbone. I purchased the 7' 15-40 rod.

Love it. It's surprisingly sensitive for a stout rod. Works great on the snapper holes.

I use this rod to cast for bluefish. I've caught blues of all sizes on this rod and it handles them all without a problem
