John,<p>The Star Delux Wire Line Trolling rod DLX80WL is a little stiffer in the tip section than the Tony Maja Bunker Spoon rod. But will work just fine for trolling bunker spoons using wire line. Please let us know if there is anything else we can ass

This is a good rod to start with. You can match the rod up with a Penn Senator 113H2SP, or a Shimano Tekota 700. We spool any line you order for free. Monofilament is free, anything else you would need to purchase the spool.

It is made in the United States. All of Star's rods are built in the United States except for the Aerial line of rods which are built in China.
