Can't Go Wrong with Star Aerial

Andrew

Star Aerial rods have a reputation for giving great value and being rugged. I got the 12-20 lb. spinning model for light-medium bottom fishing. At first the blank looked too stout and I feared it would be stiff but once I started to fish with it, the action proved to be medium and sensitive enough to feel light taps. Quite pleased so far.

Powerful and Great Value

I use the Star EX7040 with a Penn Fathom 40N 2-speed reel with 80 lb braid with a 60 lb mono top shot to fish for big mutton snappers. This set up is perfect for me and the Star rod and Fathom in low speed have the power to horse those muttons out of the rocks before they get stuck in a hole. The Aerial fit and finish is superb and represents great value.

Best rod for the price

This is in my opinion one of the best rods you can buy for under 100$ - I use this rod for goliath grouper and it keeps on going.

If you are a Florida fisherman then Mutton Snapper is on the menu at every bottom fishing trip. This rod has great strength and flexibility to get those big Muttons off the bottom fast.

Okay rod

Star's website shows that the Aerial EX528H has a 13 inch foregrip.  Your website says 8 inches.  Which is correct?

Bernie De Graaf 4 years ago

Hello Bryam, the foregrip is in fact 13 inches

Asked by Eli.schweitzer 7 years ago

Would the avet mxl work well with this rod

An Avet MXL would pair well with the conventional models of the Ariel Boat Rods.
