Great travel rod fits in carryon luggage

Tak

Had a couple St Croix Triumph travel rods for many years. I travel with it every where I travel from CA, FL, Greece, Mexico to the Caribbean Islands. It fits prefect into my carryon luggage and never had any issues with TSA. The rod preforms well and it will help you avoid those “I wish I have my fishing rod with me!” moments. Don’t leave home without your rod. ??

Perfect travel rod

Saltwater fisherman here (Florida, Bahamas,Central America). This is a well made rod. Packs small. Has enough backbone to stop and lift a large fish, e.g. 10 lb red "(large" when you're fishing a 6 1/2 foot light spinning rod).

Nice rod

Seems like it will do the trick

Pretty good for a travel rod

I got the 6’6 ML. It’s a nice compact package. I didn’t expect the ML tip to be that flimsy. It has a very soft tip but a strong solid backbone. Tested with a 1/4 and 1/2 oz practice plug. Felt like the 1/4 oz was a perfect size for it. I had to ease up on the 1/2 oz cast (worried about breaking tip). Have yet to hit the water with it but seems like a good light to medium duty read more rod.

Fun, fun, fun

I paired this rod with a Diawa BG2000 and Trilene XL 6 lb. test line for fishing small smallmouth bass, and other panfish in the Shenandoah River. Great balance, very sensitive feel, surprising casting distance, perfect fast action hooking capacity, and just plain old big fun! I needed the breakdown capability for automobile travel from FL, then again to the numerous fishing spots read more up and down the river itself.

Overall an excellent UL/L addition to my collection of rod/reel combos. My first St. Croix. While I love my Shimanos for mid and heavy power use, this particular combination moves to the starting line up for light fishing duty.

Great Rod

Another excellent St Croix rod. I have a number of St Croixs and they are top notch saltwater and freshwater rods.

James, absolutely they can be broken down for travel. These were all 4 piece travel rods that made them extremely easy to travel with. Unfortunately this specific line of travel rods is no longer available, but they have been replaced by the newer model t
