Great rod for the price

Purchased the ML action model. Great feel and sensitivity. Hard to find another rod in it’s class that’ll beat it for the price point. At this rate, I wont need the mojo model at all.

St. Croix TSR76MF Triumph Spinning Rod 7.6

This is a good rod. I wanted to purchase the Tsunami Carbon Shield II but it was out of stock. I own the Tsunami Carbon Shield II and I wanted another one for a new reel. I chose this one as the specs were close. This rod is a good purchase. Comparing this to the Tsunami, I feel the St. Croix does not have as much of a back bone to handle bigger fish if the need arises. I am sure read more it would hold up but there is a difference in the bend and power. It does pair well with my Shimano NAS2500HGFC Nasci FC Spinning Reel. I am not unhappy with this combo and will keep it for now. Hopefully I can hook something in the 10 to 15 pound range soon to see how the performance stacks up.

I'm a big fan of St Croix rods and this one didn't disappoint. I primarily fish for freshwater Bass and wanted to go a little lighter. The medium light was a good choice for me. I matched it with a Shimano VFC2000HGF Vanford Spinning Reel. Customer support at Tackle Direct is excellent. They steered me in the right direction.

Great Rod!

Fantastic inshore rod!

Super light and reliable under pressure

I've been using the medium power fast actionTriumph for a few months now. Casting paddle tails or small hard baits from the shore but also using it to cast in deeper areas just outside the reef, this rod has performed really well in both conditions. Even under pressure from decent size emperor fish or lyretails, as you can see in the picture.
I have paired it with a Daiwa BG read more MQ 3000 spooled with15lbs braid and I feel it's a perfect combination, light, super well balanced which gets you casting for hours without feeling fatigued.

Asked by Greg liming 6 years ago

In a spinning rod is a 56 rod the longest you can get in an ultra light?

Bernie 6 years ago

5'5" is the longest length in a UL power.

Asked by JayboFisher 1 year ago

Re: the 6'6" Light power 2 piece,..how long are the 2 pieces? I'm wondering if they would fit in a travel tube? I don't want to assume they are of equal lengths.

Billy - TackleDirect Customer Service 1 year ago

The pieces are around 40" in length. This rod would fit fine in the St Croix Travel case RC45.<p><br /></p><p>link: https://www.tackledirect.com/st-croix-traveler-rod-case-45in.html</p><p><br /></p><p> </p>

The image shows a 4 piece rod, but the listings below only show 1 and 2 piece rods. I'm looking for the 3 or 4 piece version.

Brendan - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

<span>Hi David, I would recommend a St. Croix Triumph Travel Spinning Rod as this series has all 4 piece models. </span><a>https://www.tackledirect.com/st-croix-triumph-travel-spinning-rods.html</a><span> Please let us know if theres anything else we can

What reel pairs well with the TSR70MF2?

Brendan - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

<span>Hi Jason, Depending on what your fishing for, I would recommend using a Shimano ST2500HGFL Stradic FL Spinning Reel. </span><a>https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-st2500hgfl-stradic-fl-spinning-reel.html</a><span> This reel is very strong and light

What is the #6 handle. It comes with the 7' MH rod but I do not see a picture on your page?

The #6 and #7 handles have a longer butt section. St. Croix has a more detailed chart on their web page. <a href="http://stcroixrods.com/products/freshwater/triumph" target="_blank">http://stcroixrods.com/products/freshwater/triumph</a>
