Light and sensitive

These are great rods with a great warranty. They are super sensitive and well made. I have the premier rod in 3 sizes and just had a warranty replacement on my ultralight. After 12 years, the tip broke (not sure how) and st croix shipped me a brand new rod for free, no questions asked. Very happy with the performance and customer service!

Exactly What I Wanted

Was looking for a good free lining rod for quite sometime and came across this rod and decided to give it a try. It is perfect in terms of the flexability I wanted but also strong enough that I wasnt worried about it breaking.

Well Made Rod

This pole is well made as all St Croix rods are. What I didn't like is in the description of the pole, it stated that the rod come with a tube. It did not come with a tube. Tackle Direct informed me that only the travel rod comes with a tube. They appear to not sell the travel pole version of this rod. I believe that the statement should come out of the description. In either read more case, the rod is a great rod.

St Croix Premier PS66LF2 Great for kayak fishing

Great rod paired with 1000 size reel for kayak fishing small lakes for Rainbows. Sensitive but good hook-sets. Handled 2 lb. rainbow caught on first cast with this setup. My favorite light tackle rod.

St. Croix craftsmanship

St. Croix rods is about serious craftsmanship. All the way from from the Triumph to the Legend family every St. Croix rod is made with high end quality components. I own several premier rods but my favorite is the 6'6" MLF 2pieces. Versatile, cast a mile, easy to transport.

Great rod, does well in any freshwater fishing scenario, I have used it for smaller saltwater species and I does the trick there as well.

Asked by Eric 6 years ago

Does St. Croix make a 9 ft. med. heavy, heavy, and xheavy spinning rod in 2 pc the same as they do for the bait caster line? If so I'm highly interested.

Donald 6 years ago

The St Croix Premier series is not made with 9' rods The rod models that come in 9' would be the Mojo, Avid, Triumph and Legend Series rods.

Asked by Simon 7 years ago

Hello, For sauger fishing with 5-8 gramm jigheads and soft lures spinning which model do you propose for lake fishing? Thank you, Simon

Donald 7 years ago

The 6 ft UL St Croix Premier rod would be a good rod for fishing on a lake with jig heads and soft baits in that weight class. Thank you for considering TackleDirect for your fishing needs.
