Redesigned for 2019 the new Shimano Terez Conventional Rods are stronger lighter and better suited to dominate the blue water than ever before. Featuring Shimanos Spiral-X and Hi-Power X construction the new Terez is built on one of the worlds most advanced blanks and is fitted with all custom compo...nents for a rod that is truly built to perfection. Spiral X construction consists of multiple layers comprised of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions resulting in enhanced torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. This construction results in an extremely responsive rod that allows for instant power transmission and greatly enhances fish fighting capabilities. Spiral X blanks are 250% more structurally rigid and 180% less prone to twisting than standard blank construction. These advanced blanks are equipped custom Shimano Aluminum Reel Seats and wrapped with all new Fuji BKW Alconite frame guides. The 2019 Terez series covers a wide spectrum of offshore angling techniques by consisting of 12 casting models 9 spinning and 2 rail rods. Whether you’re fishing the Northeast or Southeast Gulf Coast or West Coast or traveling the world in search of exotic trophies theres a Terez rod to fit any application.

Wow just wow
I have 2 of them 1 in xh and other in xxh. Man they are light u feel like your gonna break them. I caught a 40lb grouper on the xh with a avet lx raptor that's stuck itself in the rocks and I mean the rod was bent almost in half and the rod held beautifully. Amazing rods from shimano and I was mainly a st croix guy.
Terez 7' conventional
I have 3 terez conventional and 2 spinning rods the action and the abuse they take is crazy strong I've had other rods nothing holds up like terez
Shimano Terez Conventional Rod
Bought this rod for my trip to Loreto, Baja California. Paired it with a Shimano Tranx 400 with 65 lbs braid and 40-80 lbs leader. Combo was awesome. Used it to cast hard baits into the rocks or live bait. Was able to pull on Pargo and Group that wanted to go back into the rocks with plenty of power. I would recommend this rod.
Very Modern
Shimano is very good at updating their product lines often incrementally increasing the quality over time. This rod is a very versatile addition to any collection and utilizes some of the most advanced materials and production techniques. My AVET LX MC Raptor fits very nicely on this rod and makes a great do it all salt water combo.
Perfect All-Around Rod
Paired a TZC66XH with a talica 12. The rod is light and very sensitive. Enough back-bone to pull any fish up off the reefs. My go-to for just about any fish in the gulf. Caught groupers, snappers, triggerfish, and sharks.
Terez
Favorite Rod to do whatever kind of fishing you want to do
Great rod for albacore tuna
This rod is amazing. I used it for lingcod and bottom fish.. it can handle a lot of pressure. I cant wait for albacore tuna to bend this rod. Tight line...
Wish I could use it
I got the rod on time and it was packed very well in a sturdy cardboard tube and had bubble packed inside to protect the tip.
The rod feels great paired with my Talica 12. But due to the Covid 19 situation I have not been able to go out and use it. I was all geared up to go White Seabass fishing in March but trip got cancelled.
Awesome rod
Awesome rod for grouper , snapper , and amberjack.
Would rather have rollers on this then eyes
It is really annoying when an eye breaks off your expensive line or frays it when you have a big fish on. That stuff is not cheap, and most eyes will eventually do it because they are cheap.
Excellent for Large Fish..........
I've got this for my sturgeon fishing and this is one heck of a rod....I would not trade it or use other models or brands, this has a great backbone and with a sensitive tip that I have no problem detecting a fish that taking on the bait. I've also used this rod for Salmon and stripers and I'm am impressed of the performance it gives me. I've paired it with the new Daiwa Lexa 400HD… read more 7.1:1 ratio on 65lb Power Pro braid and never looked back........with the reel fast high speed ratio,I cannot have the fish to stay slack on my line during reel pumping.........I highly recommend this rod and reel combo for those that do fish for this species........
Excellent rods. Just which they made one with removable butt section.
I bought one of these the moment it came out when I saw the 80-200# rating and picked up the rod and felt the lightness. It was bright red and most thought it was a joke when I boarded the boat loaded with 80's and 50's. At the time I put the new accurate boss extreme 500 on it because shimano really didn't make a reel like the talica back then. Well after landing a medium bluefin… read more and a 95# yellowfin with relative ease with a stand up clip on belt, I was hooked on this light tackle gear. You can put all the heat most stand up fisherman can take with this gear. It is so light and powerful you are simply not fighting the gear. It was a real pleasure to fish with this rod. On one pass we hooked two yellows about 65#, one was on the terez with the accurate and the other was on a classic 50W tiagra set up. I had the fish whipped and released before the other fish was anywhere near the boat. The efficiency of the terez along with the talica II reels are impressive. I have since sold all my classic tiagra gear and only fish with talica/terez gear now. It is a no brainer. I have seen 800# marlin and 600# bluefin landed with terez/talica II's . It is the only way to go nowadays. IMO. Braided line has made all this possible. If you fish with mono, then there is a reason for the big heavy gear but this is the best choice by far if you like stand up fishing. Try it. You will not regret it.
Very versatile rod
I can use these rods for anything from snook to sailfish
Sweet rods
I have a couple of these rods in different actions and power. I mainly use them for either jigging or bait fishing in the NE. The rods are sensitive to the bites and the heavier rods are able to sling 20 oz jigs without any problems. The rods are light and you don't feel the strain on your arms or back after a long day of fishing. One thing you should be aware of - the line… read more guides show signs of rust stains at the base after multiple uses. I rinse my rod/reels down after each trip and have noticed rust stains due to the guide seat not totally sealed. For the cost of these rods, little details like this is not acceptable. I'd expect much better quality control.
A good rod from Shimano
thinnest rod ive used/owned=light but power packed. landing yellows and cudas with eaze. worth the price. i own 2 spinning : 20 and 80 MH with 30 and 50 lb power pro in a stradic ci4 4000F and thunnus 8000- all from TACKLE DIRECT!
Hello Mike. The 7' M would be enough fishing from a kayak. If you want a rod with a bit more backbone for both pier fishing and to be used in the kayak the MH model would do the trick.
I'd recommend the 6'6" heavy model
These are conventional rods not made for spinning reels
That a very wide range of species to target, Personally i think the XH model would be okay for off shore and cod fishing, but may be way to heavy and stiff for fluke porgies seabass, As a good middle of the road rod i would recommend a 6'6 or 7' MH rod fo
Here are a couple models I recommend,<p><br /></p><p>https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-srg6000sw-saragosa-sw-spinning-reel.html<br /></p><p><br /></p><p>https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-saltist5000-saltist-spinning-reel.html<br /></p>
The Heavy and up models come with an aluminum reel seatÂ
For trolling, you will most likely want to go with the 66XH rated for 65-200lb line.Â
Hello Michael, The TZC66XXH is a fast action rod. The TZCX66XXH is an extra fast action rod. <p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>
We would pair it up with BR 1220580CT RodÂ
Yes, that rod would match well with that reel.
I would recommend using the Shimano TZC70XHBLK Terez Conventional Fishing Rod Black
I'd suggest the 6'6" Heavy, model number TZC66HBLK.
The 6'6'' H would match well with the Avet MXL for mid size tuna.
The 7' H or 7' XH would be the best model rod to use for the application your intending to use it for.
The accurate BX2-600N will fit on the Shimano Terez series rods.
I would suggest model numbers TZC66HBLK or TZC66XHBLK.
The Torque does fit the Terez reel seats. The reel hardware also fits over the bottom of the blank sufficiently.
Sorry but the current generation of Terez rods are only available in black.
The Talica 25 two speed does fit the shimano terez heavy 6'6".
The Shimano TZCX66HBLK Terez Conventional Fishing Rod Black would make a great combo with the saltiga.
They do not list ounce ratings on their rods. Only the applications and the pound test the rod is recommended to be used for. This specific rod is meant for a squid slider that is rated for 30lb test.
I would go for a medium heavy or heavy rod for that application. A Torium would also be a good choice, but the 30 would be a bit too big.
Which rod you would pick would also depend partially on what you are fishing for. Since you are in the gulf I would assume Yellowfin tuna, grouper, snapper or some other gulf fish. In that case I would go with the Extra heavy 7', or the Heavy 6'6" if you
Hello Kevin. In the conventional line, the 6'6'' Heavy model would be the most ideal for your use.
I would recommend the 6'6" heavy with the fast tip for grouper.
The 7' or 6'6" XH models would work great for Ling Cod and Halibut. They have the backbone to handle the heavy weights needed for that application.Â
That would depend on how your fishing. A extra fast tip will bend closer to the tip and will be a little stiffer. A fast action will bend more down the blank of the rod. Hook sets tend to be quicker with a extra fast action rod.Â
<p>Hello Gary </p><p><br /></p><p>I think that would be a great combo </p>
A 6000 or 8000 saragosa would pair well with the Terez 70mhÂ
A shimano torium <a href="https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-tor16hgal-torium-star-drag-conventional-reel.html" style="background-color:rgb(236,237,239);color:rgb(35,82,124);font-family:Arial;">TOR16HGAL</a> would be a great pairing for the tzc-80mh
The 6'6" xh would be good for jigging and bottom fishing while it also can be used for light trolling.
The Tallica 25II would be a great reel to match with the TZCX66XXH
The 6'6" heavy fast would be a good choice paired with the tac16
Would depend on the size of the Twinpower but the gametype J from Shimano would pair up well with that and for the Talica25 the 7'0" heavy would pair up well.
The 7 foot medium would pair up well with the 400 Tranx <a href="https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-tzc70mblk-terez-conventional-fishing-rod-black.html" target="_blank">https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-tzc70mblk-terez-conventional-fishing-rod-black.
Yes you can, as they are all conventional rods.
<span>Hi Silas, The Shimano Terez Conventional rods would pair great with a Seigler LGN conventional reel. However since they are currently sold out at this time, I would recommend a Shimano TVC66H Trevala Jigging Casting Rod. </span><a>https://www.tackle
<span>Hi Rafael, The Shimano TZC66H Terez Conventional Rod has a Fast action with a rod weight of 0.95lbs or 15.2oz. The Shimano TZC66H Terez Conventional Rod is more of a general boat rod and not ideal for jigging applications. Instead I would recommend
The 7 foot medium or medium heavy would work great with the saltiga 30ha
<span>Hi Brad, I would recommend a Shimano TZBWC70MSBA Terez BW Slick Butt Conventional Rod. </span><a>https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-tzbwc70msba-terez-bw-slick-butt-conventional-rod.html</a><span> This would pair well with a Shimano BFC reel for yo

<span>Hi Victor, Depending on what your fishing for I would recommend either the Shimano TLXC70H Tallus PX Conventional Rod which could be used for chunking, light trolling, and bottom fishing. Or the Blackfin Fin #148 Stand Up/Pitch Rod. This could be us
John,<p>That's really depends on what your fishing for, but a good middle of the road action would be 'M'. The Shimano Terez Conventional rod TZC70M would go nicely with an Avet MXL 5.3 reel, giving you that 'bend' you are looking for. Please let us k
They do not currently. The lightest 6'6" is the TZC66H at this time.
Nate,<p>The Terez TZC66XXH will pair nicely with an Avet 30 for either trolling or pulling big fish off of wrecks. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.</p>
Danny,<p><br /></p><p>Would recommend the TZC66H to pair up with a Speedmaster 16:</p><p><br /></p><p>https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-tzc66h-2019-terez-conventional-rod.html<br /></p>
I recommend going with the Tranx 400 and pairing that with the <a href="https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-tzcx70mh-2019-terez-conventional-rod.html">Shimano TZCX70MH Terez Conventional Rod</a>Â for cobia. This will be an adequate setup to handle those
This would pair well with the Talica I would recommend the XXH for targeting Bluefin TunaÂ
