La mejor para orilla (the best for shore)

(what else can be said about shimano read more teramar, for the price it is one of the best options for shore fishing, the first time I used it I feasted on 15 jack mackerel catches between 4 and 5 kg, it is very versatile since you can cast from 3/4 oz rubbers, 1.5 oz walking lures to jigs and without getting tired since it has the right weight.)

Go to boat rod for New England inshore

Peter G.

I have a couple of these rods on the boat, and they have been great. Paired with a decent reel, these rods have the backbone to take 40#+ stripers without feeling undergunned. I use these to cast everything from small Jumpin' Minnows to the big 9' Docs - they're able to cast both, and work the lures nicely back to the boat.

I leave these out in the elements for most read more of the season, and they've held up nicely. Would definitely purchase again.

Thank god for Shimano…and Tackle Direct…

I fish every day…jacks, snook, reds, blue fish and sharks off my dock in a canal which leads to Ponce Inlet…my mancave has enough equipment to take an entire football team fishing…
But what excites me most is my four new Teramar rods, 7 and 8 foot medium heavy for 1/2 fo 2 ounce lures…
Yesterday my new Thunnus 8000 reels arrived which I paired with the 8 footer MH read more Teramar rods and almost new Stradic 5000’s paired with the 7 footers…all new 40 pound Power Pro from my new 1500 yard spool…almost heaven is all I can say…my old Baitrunner 3500 and 4500 at 25 years work fine but all things must pass…
At 72, I decided it was time to buy my last new spinning reels…grandson recently earned his Captains license and today we will fish:my new Pathfinder! Life is good…I expect to catch some bull reds, snook and Jacks today…
Thanks to Tackle Direct for making it happen so smoothly as usual!

The Teramar is such a great combination of power and finesse. I love the extra fast action the rod has, yet it has backbone to handle big, tough fish. This rod way outperforms it's price.

Great fluke sea bass and blackfish rod. For the price this rod is terrific. Durable with backbone and light enough to pick through bites

Nice Rod!

Very nice rod for the $, comparable to some others I have costing twice as much. Paired the TMS-70MH with a Shimano Baitrunner 4000d and 20lb braid. Works great for nearshore live baiting and even for pitching to schoolie dolphin.

Great rod for the money.

I have paired a MH 7.5 and a MH 7 foot with Tranx 400 reels, and they are about perfect for trolling and casting for king mackerel from my kayak. Once I can buy a couple more of these setups, I intend to leave my heavier tackle at home unless I plan to bottom fish next to the oil rigs.

Great rod for the money

Bill

This is my second TMS MH rod. It is a great rod for the money. My 4 year old rod is 7'6" I bought it for slip cork fishing and throwing top water lures. I am hoping the shorter rod will be my new favorite for working a Cajun Thunder, twitch baits and heavy jigs in deep water. I haven't used it enough to decide on the shorter length.

Both rods are matching with Shimano read more Ci4 using 20# braid. They can stop almost anything I catch in the Intracoastal waterway here in NE FL/Jacksonville. I have caught redfish up to 38" in a foot of water.

A medium heavy action combined with a fast action tip is gentle enough to toss live bait a mile and not tear it up. It will also sling a top water plug or Bomber Long A with tremendous accuracy. Flats fishing is about hitting the target. These rods are great.

I also carry two T Allen high carbon micro guide 7'8" medium action with extra fast tips. They are the most sensitive rods I have ever seen. I use them for 1/8 jigs and lately an Unfair Advantage shrimp.

Both rods are also paired with Shimano Ci4 2500 and 10# braid. The rod is more than double the cost of my Teramar. They will cast a tiny weight across town! I use them the most. If a fish taps your lure it's like getting slapped in the hand amazing sensitivity.

The last rod on my boat is a Star Rod - Plasma 7' heavy action with 20# braid. It is rated for baits up to 2oz but can handle double that if bottom fishing.

I use it for soaking blue crab pieces for redfish, big live mullet and trolling. The rod is a beast and doesn't cast very well it's too stiff and too short. It works very well in specific circumstances.

All my rods are one piece. I am old enough to need hi-viz line. I get out two or three times a week.

Fish don't fear me....

Should I pair the 7â€â"¢6†MH Xtra Fast with a shimano Stradic 3000 or 4000? Fishing for stripers

Asked by Scott 6 years ago

What weight reel will the tcm-66 accommodate? Also, what reel would you suggest.

Those particular casting rods would pair well with a low-profile or round baitcasting reel like the Shimano Curado K or Calcutta 200.

Between the 7â€â"¢ medium power rods, why is the extra fast action rod weighted for a heavier line/lure than the fast action one? Just trying to pick a lighter rod for my bg3000 thatâ€â"¢s not going to tire my arm as fast walking top waters and cast

Donald 6 years ago

The durability of the blank from the MF is different from the F meaning slightly more durable/more backbone, therefor the slight difference in line weight. The Fast action isn't much heavier so i would advise using the F rod for the reel your matching it

Which casting rod for trophy pike in Canada?

Donald 6 years ago

The 7'6'' MH or H would be best for pike fishing in Canada. Personally i like the MH for it's versatility.

Would the 8 foot heavy or the 8 foot extra heavy be best for sharks and larger fish?

Donald 7 years ago

Depending on how large specie of fish you are targeting will determine if both rods can handle it. These rods are very durable and reliable that can take alot of weight and pressure.
