Great Action, Feel
This rod has excellent action and backbone. Great rod for the price and looks excellent. Compares favorably to much higher priced rods. Limited out on Sea Bass using it on a recent trip on the Morning Star out of Ocean City Md.
Great rod for the price
Good backbone, sweet looking rod. Have a few stripers on it so far, we will see how it performs throughout the season.
Best Bang for Buck
Gotta say, for what I paid for this rod (7' 40-80 braid class) I doubt it can be beat. Have it paired up with a baitrunner 8000D and have used it to jig up African Pompano, Snapper, Kings. Pretty strong but feels pretty light in your hand with good action. One of my favorite rods!
A really nice rod with a great action, at a great price!.
If aesthetics are important to you, you couldn't find a prettier rod. It's a perfect match for my Shimano Thunnus C14 12000.

to take to Florida for tarpon.
The talavera's are great rods but a Shimano Terez would be better suited for how you want to use it.
The 7 foot heavy can handle casting lures up to 5 oz's
Joseph,
The Shimano Talavera Spinning rod TES70MB would pair nicely with a 6000 size reel like the Shimano Saragosa SW or Spheros SW, for example. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Its a 1 piece rod
This model of the Talavera is actually discontinued per Shimano.
we current have the updated Talavera Boat rod in stock in a 7' Heavy.

https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-tes70hc-talavera-boat-spinning-rod.html

as well as the new tala
Either of the heavy models should be able to be used for shark fishing, especially if you are paddling the baits out.
Any rod 7 foot to 7'6 St Croix makes a great rod for a reasonable price
The 4000 would be a good size for use with 30# braid and lighter. If you are looking to use a heavier line, I'd suggest stepping up to the 6000 to get an adequate amount of line on the reel.
The 7' model would probably balance the best with a 6000 size reel. However, either length would be appropriate in terms of matching up with the reel. I'd suggest the 7' model if you plan on doing a lot of casting and the 6'6" if you are doing more vert
The Tsunami Shield 6000 would be the best suited for the 7' MH rod.
