When I bought it in August, I didn't know there would be a new edition called Shimano Talavera Casting Boat Rods. Anyway, it's a nice rod on a boat for big game fish like stripers and cods. In spite of the "fast action", it is still a stiff rod, not as smart as my other Shimano Trevala rod. I baited it and let it sit in the rod holder, while most of time I were holding another rod… read more in hand.
