I purchased 2 of these over the winter and have yet to use them so I can only comment on my initial impression- look great and the quality is there- Alps butt and Fuji turbo guides.. Looks like you get a lot for your money with these. I am excited to get them out on the water

Looking to pair with Shimano speedmaster 2 25 for trolling for tuna, wahoo, and dolphin. Would that be a good combination?

Brendan - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

Hi Todd, The Shimano TEBC60XHUBA Talavera Bluewater Ring Guide Uni-Butt Rod would be a great rod. However since its out of stock I would also recommend the Star Rod EX3080C-6 Aerial Stand-up Rod. https://www.tackledirect.com/star-rods-ex30

Looking to pair with an avet exw30. Planning on mostly using to chunk for tuna and possibly some light trolling. Never plan on using heavier than 80 lb mono or 130 braid. Would the xh be enough or should I go with the xxh ?
