Great rod for surf .. cant beat it .. Get you one !!!
Best rod I own!
6 months I have use this rod and let me tell you, I have not a single complain, I can easily cast it over 100 yards, I have caught I a couple of sharks that were easily over 50lbs and the rod seemed like it could take so much more, at 150$ don't hesitate its a beast of a rod!
Shimano speed master 10'6" and 12'
This 10'6" rod is awesome for surf casting plugs for stripers . It loads nice and casts way over 100 yards. Strong backbone brings in large stripers with ease. Very light so my arm and shoulder doesn't cramp up. I also got the 12' for chunk bait fishing and it casts way out with bait and sinker. Very strong for fighting fish and landing them. I will probably buy more in the future.
Pluging rod
I purchase ( 2) shimano speed Master 10'6ft rods. One year ago. I also reels is a Shimano saragosa 10000 braid line. 80lbs beyond braid. Other shimano saragosa 50000 load with 60 Lbs beyond braid line. Both rods are great with the set up. I caught big GT with this shimano speed master rods and with this reels.
AMAZINGLY LIGHT AND CAST A MILE
BLOWN AWAY BY HOW LIGHT THIS POLE IS FOR ITS SIZE. PAIRED THIS UP WITH THE ULTEGRA 5500 AND IT WORKS WONDER. TOTALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING ANOTHER ONE IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
Great
Light and great rod
Shimano speedmaster 12 medium heavy casting
Great rod fast shipping very nicely wrapped. Looks nice worth the money. I would recommend this rod to people. I will pair this up with my avet reel and see how it work out. Tackledirect is the best place to shop for fishing equipments.
110MH2 Surf Rod
Paired it with my Saragosa 10K and Stella 14K for surf fishing in Cabo along the Pacific. The rod is great, however I think this model was too heavy for casting into the open surf for Sierra using jigs. Worked really well with poopers. Going to use this rod from now on when I'm casting near rocks and need to muscle in big fish. Since the price is really reasonable, I picked up a… read more lighter Medium model with more action which should solve my problem and improve my cast.
Very nice Surf rod that is well worth the money! - 12' Casting option
I have a Penn Prevail II of similar specs to compare this to and I can say that it is worth every bit more than the Penn cost and then some...although the cost is not that much more. I love my Prevail 12' but did not realize how much the casting performance could be improved until I used this. I would give the Penn a slight edge in toughness but that's typical for Penn. The Shimano… read more is skinnier in profile and feels better with my reels in my hands specifically for anything more than soaking bait (Shimano Tranx 400, Penn Fathom II Casting Special). Also it is just noticeably lighter and therefore more pleasant for a long day of fishing. The construction and finish are holding up well so far and I wish they would make better sleeves to protect 2 piece surf rods in storage and travel. Tackle Direct make it happen please!
Big Baits
I'm really pleased to to have this heavier rod now. Had spare reel and got this rod specifically for bigger baits and it works great at a fair price.
A lot of rod for the money
Great rod that feels like it has the power of a one-piece rod despite being a two-piece. The rod doesn't load extremely easily, but you get used to it quickly. Depending on the retrieve, rod works well with the walking baits (surface and sub), pencil poppers, spoons, poppers, and stickbaits that I've tried on it. Rod doesn't have as much sensitivity as I'd want for dragging the… read more bottom with bucktails but can do that job too. Overall a fantastic rod at this price point.
Just bought
Just ordered this rod mostly due too its extremly well pre reviews and have been told by my 3 favorite bait stores and old salts said this is best rod for the money hands down and hopefully will handle Stripers on the North Shore of Mass....
Went with 10.6 and plan to use a Battle 2 6000 with 30-50lb Power Pro.
I want another!
Love thus rod for the beach casting! I've teamed it up with several different reels and it works great with everything from a 5500 to a 7000 pro rocket.
It's the medium heavy and it handles any fish I've had on so far. I'm looking forward to getting another.
It's a very comfortable rod to fish with in the surf.
That would pretty much be the only different. the 12'HF action rod will be much stiffer and provide more back bone when casting large baits and heavy sinkers, and give you a little more power when fighting these fish.<p>the 12' MHMF action rod will provid
Yimin,<p>For throwing poppers around 2oz, you would be better with the Shimano Speedmaster SPMS120MH2 surf rod. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.</p>
Suresh,<p>You can pair the BG8000 with the 12ft H Speedmaster surf rod. You should be able to cast 8oz with that combo as the rod is rated 3-8oz. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.</p>
T,<p>The distance from the end of rod butt to the reel seat is 27 3/4 inches for 12' SpeedMaster casting surf rod. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.</p>
Dee,<p>That will depend on the reel you are pairing the SpeedMaster 9ft surf with, but normally you wouldn't go over 30lb mono and ideally 12 - 20 mono would work best for casting. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.</p>
I would recommend the <a href="https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-srg10000swapg-saragosa-sw-a-spinning-reel.html">Shimano SRG10000SWAPG Saragosa SW A Spinning Reel</a>Â plenty of capacity for the distance you will be throwing and a great reel to fight f
Yes those two will pair well with each other for the surf!
Here are three options I would recommend:<p></p><p><a href="https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-stc5000xgfl-stradic-fl-spinning-reel.html">Shimano STC5000XGFL Stradic FL Spinning Reel</a></p><p></p><p><a href="https://www.tackledirect.com/penn-btliii5000

Whenever we get stock of these rods, we will weigh them and post it.Â
There are no guides on the bottom half of the rod when split. All the guides are on the top section of the rod.
C,<p>The Shimano SpeedMaster 10'6" surf rod will pair nicely with the Shimano Saragosa SW 5000 (or 6000 if you want a bit more line capacity). Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.</p>
The reel you mentioned would pair well with a 12' H rated model for sharking. I would recommend loading this reel up with 60-100#braid depending on whether you cast your bait or kayak your bait out.
This Penn Clash 5000 would pair well with the Shimano 9'. Medium rated rod, should balance nicely and be light for a long day of casting
I would recommend pairing with the 10'6-12' Medium heavy rated model rods depending where you're fishing and what for
The Speedmaster Surf Rod that would pair up with that reel would be the 12' Conventional model in the link below:<p><br /></p><p><a href="https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-spmc120mh2-speedmaster-surf-casting-rod.html">https://www.tackledirect.com/shima
The 9ft rod is a 50/50 splitÂ
Hi Sir! Thanks for your question! That is correct. If you are to purchase the rod and ship it to Kansas, then you do not have to pay any sales tax.
<p>we can only get these right now <span style="float:none;background-color:rgb(236,237,239);color:rgb(52,52,52);font-family:Arial;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:normal;text-align:left;text-decoration:
Absolutely. Depending on what 6500 size reel you have (different manufacturers have different sizes), and what you are targeting and how much distance you need any Speedmaster between 10 - 12 ft would be good.Â
The 12ft medium heavy is 17oz
The guides can either handle braid or monoÂ
A 10000 saragosa would pair well with a 12 foot heavy surf rod as well as the Shimano Ultegra ci4+ 5500<p><br /></p>
You would have to use a spinning rod with the stradic 5000fl
The Socorro is a great reel and 10000 would pair with 11ft or 12ft because of the sizeÂ
Once we have one here we will be able to see how heavy it is.
As soon as we have some in-store we will get that information.
The speedmaster rods are made to be paired with long cast shimano reels with the way the guides are setup on the blank, that's the biggest difference.Â
The 8000 will pair up with either rod and is covered by a one year warrantyÂ
For either 3 of these rods to be considered the "best" is up for debate. In my personal opinion the speedmaster Is the most balanced out of the three.Â
They are a 50/50 splitÂ

<span>Hi Rob, I would recommend the Shimano SPMS120H2 SpeedMaster Surf Spinning Rod since you are casting 8oz weights. However, since this rod is currently sold out I would also recommend the Tsunami TSTIISS-1202XH Trophy II Surf Spinning Rod. </span><a>h
Robert,<p>THe Shimano Stradic 5000 FL will pair with the 9ft SpeedMaster surf rod, but if your looking for better casting distance, then the Shimano SpeedMaster or Ultegra Surf reels would be the way to go. Please let me know if there is anything else w
