Designed for use with a wide array of jigs and jigging techniques the Shimano Grappler Type J Jigging Rods utilize Shimanos highest-performing rod blank technologies. The Grappler Type J is perfect for anything from jigging over near-shore reefs for mid-sized bottom fish to butterfly jigging for gia...nt bluefin tuna and everything in-between. These versatile jigging rods feature a moderate-fast action perfect for imparting a natural action on bucktails and soft plastics while retaining enough backbone to steer fish away from structure making them the ideal for wreck fishing. Shimanos Grappler series rods are built from blanks utilizing their proprietary Spiral-X and Hi-Power X construction that produces the most powerful lightest and most sensitive blanks available. Spiral X construction consists of multiple layers comprised of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions resulting in enhanced torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. This construction results in an extremely responsive rod that allows for instant power transmission while casting or jigging and greatly enhances fish fighting capabilities. Spiral X blanks are 250% more structurally rigid and 180% less prone to twisting than standard blank construction. These cutting edge blanks are fitted with Fuji Alconite guides and an SiC tip along with comfortable EVA handles. The end result is a rod that delivers sharp and crisp precision control that is extremely light to reduce angler fatigue.

Grappler tipo J (Grappler type J)
la he visto emparejada con un tranx y es un combo muy fuerte para pelear con peces grandes
el dise?o y combinacion de colores hace que se vea lujosa
(I have seen it paired with a tranx and it is a very strong combo to fight with big fish
the design and color combination makes it look luxurious)
Excellent
Awesome rod. Have it paired with a 14k twin power SW. Excellent jigging rod for many species, tuna, cobia, etc. lightweight and has a great feel. Grip is great as well
Grappler type J by Shimano

Amazing!
Hands down the best bang for your buck!
New Shimano grapplers rod.
This new shimano grappler are excellent, they are powerful for their size .I catch big shark and big American red snappers on the party boat and handle excellent ,now I own 4 of then 2 spinning, 1 conventional, 1 slow jigging good investment.
Best jigging rod
Amazing rod, I would recommend this to everyone.
Great rod
The best jigging rod I have tried to date. It lifts heavy jigs more efficiently and with less efforts than any other rod I have tried to date.
Good offshore rod for Beeliner and mangrove
Very light and sturdy rod for everything light offshore. If you can only bring one rod for cobia, snapper, etc.. this would be it.
Primo features
This rod has great features, it combines great guides, strength, all in a light package to keep you from tiring on the water
Strong & light
Great rod for the money
Grappler rod is very affordable
Grappler rod is very affordable.
I have many JDM Grappler rods but I decided to get the American version.
The difference between JDM and USM is... 2pcs vs 1pc.
I like 2pcs better when I use the backseat of my SUV otherwise, I love 1pc rod.
Very Japanese style rods, like Major Craft rods TackleDirect carries.
Barry,
The Shimano Talica 16II would be recommended reel for the Grappler 400g. This combo will work for both tilefish and cod in deep water. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

The best Grappler models to pair with a 14000 size Stella are GRPCS77MH, GRPCS82MH, GRPJS56XH, GRPJS53XXH, and GRPJS58XXH
Yes, this Shimano grappler would make an excellent pairing with you Avet reel, along with the Trevala PX you were asking about, can't go wrong with either rod!
the 12 or 16 would be just fine for tuna jigging on this rod
I think this 6'6 M rated rod would pair perfectly with your Avet SX MC, very versatile reel and rod for bottom fishing applications
I would recommend more of a boat rod for this reel than a Grappler model,
I would look into a 7' MH or Heavy rated Talavera Boat rod or Teramar West Coast rod

https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-talavera-boat-spinning-rods.html

<p
I would recommend the 6'6 MH rated rod for your fishing application, this set up should be able to hold up for targeting yellowtail as well
That size reel may be too big for that rod.
Yes this rod and reel would make a very powerful yet light weight jigging set up for your fishing application
Yes this combo will work for your application.
.45 lbs or 7.2 oz
Typically yes either a 5000 or 6000 size bgmq would pair very well with the grappler for most lighter jigging applications
Rick,
That combo of the Grappler GRPJS66M and Saragosa 8000 will pair nicely for inshore / offshore jigging targeting medium sized tuna and other pelagics. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Bryan,
The Shimano Torium 16 will pair with the Shimano Grappler Type J Jigging rod GRPJC66MH to be used for targeting Blackfish. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Chris,
The Shimano Grappler Type J casting rod is really designed for jigging. But if I had to choose one to pair with the Shimano Tranx 200, then GRPJC66MH would be the one for bottom bouncing and cut bait fishing. Please let us know if there is anyt
